When it comes to piloting, Barack Obama seems to think he's the political equivalent of Charles Lindbergh, Chuck Yeager and—in a "Fly Me to the Moon" sort of way—Nat King Cole rolled into one. "I think I'm a better speech writer than my speech writers," he reportedly told an aide in 2008. "I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I'll tell you right now that I'm . . . a better political director than my political director."

"I'm LeBron, baby. I can play at this level. I got game."

How many times have we heard it said that Mr. Obama is the smartest president ever?

I would say neither.
His smarts is within the realm of Sal Alensky, Bill Ayers, Socialism, how to hate America and being a puppet.

Well, he's been given a pass his entire life. People have treated him with kid gloves and he now believes he's brilliant. I don't think he is at all stupid IQ wise. He IS a bright guy, just in the academy of the overrated. He also can be quite charming and, if he has a teleprompter, can give quite a good speech, though one doubts that he writes them himself.

On another thread there was yet another discussion of the issue of grammar. One person insisted that using bad grammar doesn't mean you are stupid. I concur, except that it does mean you are uneducated. Obama's issue isn't so much a lack of intelligence, but a lack of experience, a lack of leadership, and his being polarized as a left wing idealogue.

Unfortunately, it is we who suffer.

I think this falls under the "affirmative action" smarts vs. "real world experience" smarts.

He is very smart. His intellect is worthless as it is blinded by ideology, weakness and by pride.

In the past 100 years there has not been a person more brilliant in the politics and organization of getting elected as Obama.

In the past 200 years there has not been a person more inept in the politics and organization of having the job he was elected to perform as IObama.

It does not come down to intelligence. It comes down to leadership ability and toughness and this gent is extremely wanting on both of those.

I'll take a semi-smart guy who can build a team and execute a game plan over the brilliant gent who can't build a team nor develop a reasonable plan, let alone execute against that plan and thats what we have now.

President Obama is very well educated, very street savvy, and was smart enough to con the majority of this population to believe in his completely empty campaign promises of hope, change, and transparency. Though I feel he has the IQ of a rock, his IQ is definitely higher than those who voted for, and still support him. Even the "mentally challenged" tend to be smart enough to observe, and learn from, events evolving around them. This doesn't seem to be happening in Mr. Obama's case.

Maybe he already knows "it all". Without a doubt, he sure seems to think so!

See ya,
Milt

He is either a smart feller,
or a fart smeller.

Thank you for indulging me a little juvenile humor at that idiot's expense.

I can no longer stomach looking at Obama on the TV anymore.

I think you nailed it. I really cannot see any argument as to Obama not being an intelligent man, let alone stupid. That doesn't make sense at all. The man is turning out to be a less than average leader to say the least. He has no leadership skills which the job requires. leadership requires more than confidence. It requires a knowledge of how to get through to people, to persuade people and rally people together for a unified goal. Smarts alone isn't enough to cut the mustard. TPOTUS must understand how to wade through the muddy waters to bring about the best possible outcome during a crappy situation. Not liking a guy's politics or believing he is a secret Muslim Kenyan (whatever the prevailing hate is nowadays) doesn't make him a stupid man though.

Honestly, I don't think any of us really know the answer to this question. We can speculate, and someone may hit the nail on the head, but none of us have spent any time with him, to see what he is like behind closed doors. Without that, we cannot have a true picture of the man.

I think he is very cunning, but I cannot say for certain what his overall plan is, or whether he created this plan or not. Since there is sufficient evidence to suggest his birth certificate was fake, and other evidence that suggests he is basically a confidence man, I would say that qualifies him as "smart." He knows how to work people. As far as "book smarts," I doubt he has them. I have yet to read anything that he actually wrote while receiving his education, so I cannot be sure on that point, and it is just speculation.

It depends on the situation, but I think him staying out of the lime light today was one of his better ideas, he needs to duck and cover the rest of his term as he gets dumber looking by the day.
