Ex-lurker old-time computer geek

I've been lurking for a few months now, and actually find myself more than a little surprised to have joined. Dunno why. Perhaps to contribute instead of just lurk? Anyway, I just love how this site provides fast-breaking new information, a wild amount of humor, and the off-the-beaten-track pointers to stuff I would likely not see anywhere else. This is a fine site to practice thinking outside the box (what box?) and engage in unexpected wide-ranging inquiries.I am always looking forward to see what pops up next on this site, and thank you all most kindly for your contribution.

Welcome to ATS... Your username looks old Irish. Reminds me of some old stuff I read. Does it have a meaning, other than just being original? Perhaps tribal origins?

The name has meaning to me, mac meaning "son of" and Fiachna:

Derived from Gaelic fiach meaning "raven". This was the name of a king in Irish legend.
