This glowing unknown object was recorded in the sky above Perm in Russia on Saturday, 6th August 2011. According to the source, this object was able to change direction.

Chinese lantern?

Another one from Amsterdam, possibly space debris:

I'm not sure that discussing 3 videos in one thread is a good idea.

Surely they all deserve their own platform.

This is set up for confusion later.

In my opinion this is not a good idea to a subject as sensitive as this.

There's only 2 mate and are you suggesting that ATS members lack mental capacity?

The first looks like a chinese lantern to me. Its the right color , height and speed.

The second looks like a chinese lantern whos flame has gone out so its cooled down and is falling back to earth. Its certainly the right shape and size. Ive not seen a dark chinese lantern before but thats not to say they dont exist or its not a home made one.

No, just suggesting that multiple videos can cause multiple discussions and can cloud the water on the topic.
That's all.

This has nothing to do with mental capacity.

On topic: The first video (to me) looks like an approaching plane. The resolution is so low that the flux in color could be the beacon lights.

I am not sure if it is mental capacity as much as drive and motivation.

We have to weed through so much crap and hoaxes.
How about a little more description or even "discuss" a little yourself?
I mean why should anyone else discuss if you have nothing to say yourself?
Isn't this something you are interested in?
Do you think they are genuine, could they be CGI...stuff like that.

I'll come back when there is a little more meat on these bones.

Problem with the plane theory is that around the 45 second mark the object seems to stop or reverse which seems a bit weird.

Yeah I see that. Weird. From my rooftop I can see planes approaching Newark International Airport. Some planes seem to being traversing in a horizontal manner then seem to hang in one spot for a second. The first time I had seen this it bugged me out, but as I noticed form watching more is that they made a turn there and appeared to slow down. Then a few minutes later they hooked again. It appeared to happen 2 times on several occasions.

I guess chinese lanterns are possible as well.

Vid 1 isn't a reflection, passes through one of the overhead wires, my conclusion is chinese lantern, maybe wind causing strange movement, possibly

And the guy posting second clips is definitely a chinese lantern admirer

I believe the first video is the ISS.

The apparent spot where it slows down / stops can be explained by camera shake. There is a distinct movement of the camera to the right at that point, causing the object to appear still relative to the frame.

The ISS set at 05:16 and Civil Twilight began at 04:58 that day, so the light level is consistent with a bearing of ESE.
