Yeah, Police heavy handed tactics in April. Also officers were called in from South Wales who didn't know the area or local politics.

Anyway, I agree with your point about this being allowed to happen in order for new laws to be introduced to control any future Government protests. I really hope we are both wrong though.

The thing about this, is that many people are saying the police have done their job by killing an armed man, yet is that really what we should be doing, in a country that has no death penalty, and that prides itself on its alleged civilised values?

Can you explain how sentencing someone to death months/years after they have commit a crime is comparable to shooting an armed man who is an immediate threat to yourself and those around you?

If he hadn't have left his house armed or led the life of a scumbag in the first place, then it is more than likely that he would still be alive. Some would call it justice but ultimately it's nothing more than common sense on the part of the police.

Perhaps you would prefer to take the "civilised" course of action and ask him very nicely to put his gun down and allow himself to be arrested, but I would not expect anyone in their right mind to act in such a limp-wristed fashion in that situation.

May be what would help people understand is if the Met explained what happened, or better still, these people who think you've got time to aim for a limb try it when someone pulls a gun or refuses to surrender a gun. You have to go for the chest because it is the biggest target, that's what police are trained for and they only shoot, here in the UK at least, if there is a perceived threat to life! It's not like America lol Again I don't blame people's ignorance, no wait, actually I do lol

A single shot gives him a reasonable chance to live, if this happened in the US, there would have been 60 rounds in him which would have included the police reloading. I love the hypocrisy of Americans.

just because the guy got shot, it's not a excuse to riot & loot.

the guy had a gun on him, maybe he aimed it at the police.

if you had people rioting up your street, or you work smashed up or burnt down, maybe you would think differently.
