There may be some positive aspects of owning a gun. But the truth is: a situation like this would 1000x worse with guns involved.

The police are already out numbered. Imagine if they were also out gunned...

Exactly what i was thinking, you would have the troops running to the Armouries and people like me willing to join them shotting these scum,

All these people who have been rioting are the scum from every city in the UK who DONT WANT TO WORK and rather spong of the tax payers, they have no political point just blaming others for there lazyness and as alway the "problems" on others, there scum

i personally will be meeting alot of these on my own streets if they want to try it

The fights are moving to the cyber streets...

BlackBerry hacked after offering to aid police in London riots

The official BlackBerry blog appears to have been hacked after Research In Motion, the maker of the popular smartphone line, announced its intentions to cooperate with police and assist in the aftermath of the London riots.

News of the hack quickly spread after a group called TeaMp0isoN posted a message on Twitter calling attention to a security attack. The group boasted that the hack took less than five minutes and placed a statement about the incident onto the compromised website:

Dear RIM,
You Will _NOT— assist the UK Police because if u do innocent members of the public who were at the wrong place at the wrong time and owned a blackberry will get charged for no reason at all, the Police are looking to arrest as many people as possible to save themselves from embarrassment…. if you do assist the police by giving them chat logs, gps locations, customer information & access to peoples BlackBerryMessengers you will regret it, we have access to your database which includes your employees information; e.g – Addresses, Names, Phone Numbers etc. – now if u assist the police, we _WILL— make this information public and pass it onto rioters…. do you really want a bunch of angry youths on your employees doorsteps? Think about it…. and don’t think that the police will protect your employees, the police can’t protect themselves let alone protect others….. if you make the wrong choice your database will be made public, save yourself the embarrassment and make the right choice. don’t be a puppet..
p.s – we do not condone in innocent people being attacked in these riots nor do we condone in small businesses being looted, but we are all for the rioters that are engaging in attacks on the police and government…. and before anyone says “the blackberry employees are innocent” no they are not! They are the ones that would be assisting the police.
This message is no longer visible as the BlackBerry blog appears to be entirely offline at this point. The official UK Twitter account for BlackBerry — which was where RIM initially announced its intentions to cooperate with authorities — has not issued any statements regarding the security breach.

Don't believe all on twitter/Facebook! I was getting calls from so many last night saying I hear your town is up in smoke when I was standing in the middle of the town centre! People, for whatever reason, tend to get misinformed but it spreads like wild fire or riot fire!

Yeah, just spoke to someone who says they've had a tip off to board everything up or at least shut early. Guess it's going to kick off in the centre again and go up through Stokes Croft, St. Pauls, etc.

Resident of Stokes also says that they are pee'd off with the kids who are doing this, very much unlike the riots back in April when there was somewhat broad support in that area. Apparently (I didn't see it myself) on BBC Points West a taxi driver was saying that he had calls from teenagers and their family outside the area asking for transport in to where it kicked off a little last night (few windows smashed, bins on fire).

Seems like a lot of the troublemakers aren't even local!

*EDIT*
Forgot to add that the police were more proactive than they were in London last night (again, makes me wonder if this is some part of a plan from higher ups which will allow legit protests to be shut down with force in the future), and actually got the youngsters to move on hence the lack of damage.

Exactly... didn't ONE guy with ONE gun kill 8 people the other day in the states?

And how many have died at the hands of thousands of UNARMED rioters and looters so far after 3 NIGHTS of this trouble....?

ONE.

The stats never back up what these idiots spout off.

After 20 days of rioting in France, in 2005, only 2 people died. After 5 days of rioting in Los Angeles, in 1992, 53 people died. Goodness knows how many were killed and murdered in post-Katrina New Orleans.

The statistics, as you say, speak for themselves.

Great. Then round up the people on the street doing this, and press them into social service group for a year. Their job is to repair. If they don't, they get put in jail.

These aren't poor kids rioting over bread and butter. These are spoiled rotten #s who deserve to be put to work breaking rocks, on bread and butter.

Exactly, they were saying its going off in Southampton and Hants police has reported theres no disorder anywhere in the county.

I think its an attempt to swell the numbers by getting more people to go there.

Most the reports from people is that these people aren't bothering normal people but only their shops, police and property.

Weird, but a lot of people have been saying that. Couple of blokes on Sky last night said they could have convos with the looters and they were just going for the gold as it were.

That'll probably change as more take a stand

We could even test the theory. Think of a town without reports and a few of us hit Twitter and see if it goes viral.

They gladly rob you, torch your house, and of course threaten you if you get in their way of destruction.

Mind your business, and let the thieves, rapists, vandals, murderers, do as they will. Don't get in their way, and there won't be trouble. You know, other than you living amoungst broken glass, fire, and owning nothing of value.

Lowest common denominator don't get to make the rules. I refuse to live in a society where they do - their rules essentially say that they get whatever they want whenever they want, and if I don't like it then their willingness to do harm to me an mine will fix it.

I hate these people. Passionately.

These people are the symptom of society without a purpose. Their purpose has become to tear apart.

They give no hassle so long as you allow them to tear apart the World, and their purpose is only to tear apart the World.

Let their faces be published. Let their crimes be known. Let them be pressed into service.

If they continue to buck the police, then impose martial law and round them up.

Be glad I'm not in charge of the UK. The second day would be the last day of rioting. Believe it.

police should be given the go ahead to shoot the lot of them. Its nothing to do with a protest or the government, its just a bunch of monkeys probably having the time of their lives.

www.youtube.com...

I dont know if ive ever seen a video that makes me as angry as this. If they get away with it now theres no doubt they will carry on like this.

Kill them all.

I've seen calls for rioters to be shot in this thread, and have a question for anyone who honestly will answer.

What would your true reaction be to seeing these kids being actually shot and laying bloodied in the streets?

Does anyone here really want to see that happen?

By the way, some western sources are reporting that there will be an increase in police numbers, and many will be armed, and may use "plastic bullets" ... which can cause serious injuries and even kill.

Answers/thoughts?

Unfortunately, there are many people in the UK who want that to happen, and as far as they are concerned, it will mean less of their taxes going to feed them, or keep them in prison, or whatever.

The thing about this, is that many people are saying the police have done their job by killing an armed man, yet is that really what we should be doing, in a country that has no death penalty, and that prides itself on its alleged civilised values? Regardless of whether he was armed, he should NOT have been killed. Shooting him is fine if it disables him, but there are ways to do that which do not result in death and these specialist police should be trained to do that. It just shows up the hypocrisy of the British people.
