Ok, Came across another interesting video of a weird effect in the sky and wanted to see what you guys suggest could possibly be causing this. I found this remarkable for I love phenomena like this. It's just beautiful: Wish I could have seen this with my own two eyes

What do YOU think caused this?

Thanks for helping me out ATS!

That is very remarkable. I have never seen anything like that. It looks like linticular clouds but I cannot explain the light. If its the setting sun shouldnt all the clouds be lit around this? No takers on what this effect could be huh?
I starred and flagged to bring others to this thread. Hopefully someone knows a term for this.

...or it could be the sun reflecting off of a lower cloud onto a cloud that is more dense above it? Not sure though, just the first thing I thought of...besides Nibiru of course!

Do the ATS meteorologists not visit general chat?
...thinking out loud.." I should have put this in the science forum".

Eh i'am not so sure about it being a cloud with sun reflecting on it look at the background there are clouds all around it and none behind it its like there's a cutout in the clouds around it and the clouds below it seem very dense and the object, cloud or light in discussion seems almost see through and seems to settle onto the cloud below very interesting

It didn't appear cloudish to me either but who knows? Did you guys notice the darkness lines like a vortex of sorts? Take another look, I had overlooked this the first time viewing. It's wildly beautiful...

Just to let you guys know that I u2u'd oztheweatherman and I got no response a few days ago, I believe it was.

I had asked him to take a look at this thread/anamoly but maybe he overlooked the message which is very possible. If anyone knows a meteorologist here at ATS, I really wish to hear their professional opinion as to this anamoly.

Inquiry minds want to know what caused this ..
don't we?

Inquiry minds still want to know lol...

Can anyone explain this/know what this is???
Or do you know of someone to ask to come take a look at the vid who might know?
If so please assist.

Thanks... I had to bring this back up, it's been a couple of weeks . Thread was getting buried..
Hoping you can help find the answer for this anamoly!
