I was thinking the same thing. I believe in free will. It is supposed to be our greatest gift. By eliminating free will from the equation (keeping something away == force), then our gift is diminished.

I can not accept a God that limits our free will in any way, as that was supposed to be the greatest of all the gifts. As such, I believe your hypothesis is wrong (Not CJ, but the OP).
