Actually, building computers is part of what I do for a living, and the brand that got us returning the most defective harddisk is maxtor.



But personnaly (on my system), I had maxtor, samsung, WD and seagate, and they are all fine by me. (the original harddisk was a 40 or 60 gig I think, I had many since then)

Can't say I've worked with many hitachi tho.

Iv had a few over the past 4 years...EVERY SINGLE ONE...has crashed...or just become unrecognized. They get the worst reviews Iv seen most of the time.
