Post Downgrades: Italy prosecutors seize Moody's, S&P documents

MILAN, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Italian prosecutors have seized documents at the offices of rating agencies Moody's and Standard & Poor's in a probe over suspected "anomalous" fluctuations in Italian share prices, a prosecutor said on Thursday.

The measure is aimed at "verifying whether these agencies respect regulations as they carry out their work," Carlo Maria Capistro, who heads the prosecutors' office in the southern town of Trani which is leading the probe, told Reuters.

TPTB are in a panic.... The panic button has just been hit... If you cannot control the ratings agency, then prosecute the data providers... Alternatively, Berlusconi­ is getting jealous that the ratings agencies are helping out the banksters ... and downgrading Italy to junk... Either way, looks like we are entering a new era..

Do you mean to say that tbtb lost control of the rating agencies because one of their soldiers had a hand in the til? It's like we're run by the mafia. Instead of gangsters we've got banksters.
