Typeing with my left hand tonight.

On July 1st I was in a bad wreck..a week in ICU and a mounth in hospital...2 surgerys
a pin and 2 plates were put in my arm and elbow to put my arm together This was a year ago .

When I could finaly use my arm and build up the muscles I have had no pain or troubles

this mourning I woke up with a pain in my wrist
Thinking nothing of it I went to work..
No heavy lifting..just turning wrenches and steam cleaning a Cherry Picker

By noon my arm from elbow to fingers felt on fire and I could not make a fist
Went home
Hot bath ans pain pills seemed to help with the pain;;
But now I cant move my fingers and have lost my strength in my hand

Any one know what will help this ?

Emergency room tomorrow if its still the same..but I dont know what they can do about it .
I hope the pins arent working loose..but this can
me on suddenly

Any ideas ??

wow..first off...sorry to hear about your accident.

Second, it sounds like something is acting up, but I haven't a clue what to tell you...except I hope it gets better soon.

If you do take a trip to the hospital..I wish you a correct diagnosis ...and a speedy recovery .

Yeah, get to the ER tomorrow if it persists. I'm not a doctor, so I can't give you any medical advice. Good luck. In the meantime, go surf some porn and enjoy the "strange".

lol, but seriously wishing you the best!

Make sure you get it checked out even if you feel better tomorrow could be a :"TIA" (Temporary ischemic attack)
a temporary blockage of a blood vessel in the brain; a precursor of a stroke( I had one (stroke) at age 31; happens for a number of reasons.)

Back to work after 4 weeks with a arm broken in multiple places?????
Emergency rooms are not where the specialists are.

My friend, take it easier...your still working hard even though it's not like before the accident. I have no idea what it could be but the blood clot theory for stroke is most certainly real. Stay with us by getting the hospital. Best wishes for you and yours.

Last thing you want to do is head back to the emergency room, as for your hand not working anymore. I'd say something is wrong with the surgery and you need to let them know about it asap. Pretty sure they can't charge you a second time for them messing up the surgery the first time around. Just go see your doctor or the place you had the surgery.

You need to go to the emergency room NOW.

I have been an EMT for 8 yrs and worked in an ER for over three. You are at a great risk of developing a blood clot in your arm after that kind of surgery and with what you are describing, that could very well be what is going on. This is NOT something that you 'wait and see' what happens.

Even if it is something not life threatening (yes, that could be) your symptoms are serious enough that it should be checked immediately to avoid permanent damage.

I'll be thinking of you and hope it turns out okay.

Judging by your symptoms, the nerves in your arm/hand are affected. Nothing to worry about, but DO seek help as soon as you can.

Meanwhile, if you have lavender essential oil, try massaging your inner arm and your forehead with it. It is not a substitute for proper care; but it may help you until you get proper help.

Take good care of yourself and the best of luck!

Sounds like you need to get checked out Bobby. As in PRONTO AMIGO. Could be nothing. But if it's everything
the difference between now and tomorrow could be the difference between say, drooler and a simple aspirin
regimine.

No reason not to go right?

Go!

Now!

You still here?

Take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear about the accident. But this could possibly be caused by a pinched nerve? My uncle told me a story about how he was a boy, sitting eating an ice cream. He went to get up to throw something away only to find out his legs didn't want to work. Short of going into panic, he wiggled around and all of a sudden his legs worked again. He went to the family doctor who told him that the episode was probably triggered by a pinched nerve in his spine. He's had all sorts of back problems since an early age.

But I'm guessing the operation could have possibly done something similar? Not sure, but I'd talk to a doc about it. Good luck.

I had my leg rebuilt, and I have experienced something similar, but at the same time, it could be something serious, so best to have it checked out.

That's for sure. Most of them are interns or resident physicians just out of med school. I don't know how many times my family has been misdiagnosed when having to make a trip to the ER. If they can't figure it out they tell you it's probably stress related and send you on your way. (I think they learn that in med school when you can't diagnose an illness just tell your patient it's stress related).

I want to underline what Westcoast said above.
I too have experience in this field and it is nothing to play amateur night with.
. Always call your doctor instead of consulting ATS!

My accident was 18 months ago and I had surgery again back in Nov. I was informed about the consequence of blood clots forming and their consequences.... not good. In that time I've lost a very dear friend who fell and within 24 hrs was dead of a blood clot in the lung.
I believe you've had some pretty hot weather there in Texas of late. If you haven't kept up your hydration levels then there is an increased rate in the likely hood of a blood clot forming in which case the advice here to seek a medical opinion is very valid. At least they can administer a shot to clear blood clots as well as inhibit any forming.
Best of luck... don't panic just take precautions.
