could the objects on the ring represent times?

The star (sun) is up like noon or midday,
the pyramid and towers DO look like the play (start) and pause (stop) sort of buttons on controllers, and I makes me wonder if there is a time connected the each of the inner circles (captains)

There is a small yellow line in the lowest circle, and for some reason I would then think that is supposed to be #1, so maybe if you go around like a clock, after play/start you get #2,#3,#4 then pause and #1.
makes it make sense that we can't find one captain that way.

This is my simple take on the symbols. The large circle with a star looks like a ring to me. I think it represents the first ring. The two bars are the second ring, the triangle (three sides) represents the third ring and the four dots represent the the fourth ring and the captains.

Geometrically they are :

Circle
Parallel lines
Trangle
Diamond or Square (each dot represents a corner of the square or diamond)

High Sun (Star) meaning middle of the day

One of the posts from 000000000 in the ID log was "the 4 symbols represent the ring words". In the riddle clues there were:
03. the first of thine words empowers the four
04. 4) the second shall shatter the philistines
05. the third is an embrace of absolute meaning
06. the fourth is thine key of all and all of thou shall be .

On the ID picture the symbols seem to be on two different planes. On the bottom plane there is a big circle with 4 dots in the middle. The other symbols seem to be on it. So it might be the symbol of the first word (empowers the others).

So the dodecagram, the triangle and the two rectangles should represent the other three words.

The dodecagram could be two overlapping hexagrams (so-called "David's stars"). In the Bible David shattered the skull of a philistine named Goliath with a slingstone.

If the triangle represents a pyramid it could be the third one, because pyramids are often connected with mysteries. The pyramids may hide "the absolute meaning".

The rectangles could be coffins. (Key to all you shall be.)

This might be too far-fetched (especially the last two).
