A Swedish man who tried to build a nuclear reactor in his kitchen says he started the experiment "just for fun".

Off site content
"Hi! I'm really interested in nuclear physics and radiation," he wrote.

"As a hobby, I have ... gathered the basic materials (and) planned a project to build a very primitive nuclear reactor. You can see my plans here," he added, complete with a link to his blog.

"I'm now wondering if I am breaking a law with this?" he asked in the email.
Mr Handl's blog can be found at richardsreactor.blogspot.com....

He claims to have the basic material which i assume included some uranium or fuel rods of some sort

My question would be how the heck he got his hands on the necessary raw materials to power a nuclear reactor of any size. Last time I checked reactor-grade plutonium was next to impossible to stumble across, even harder to keep out of view of the world police.

Look at this comment from his blog

110804 - Now I'm famous world wide...
Many, many news have notice me now. Thanks for all tips! I even was live-interview in BBC-television. I didn't thought I would get so famous... Please continue to comment if you find other articles :-)

I was thinking he didnt really have any nuclear fuel, but then i read this
Richard Handl was detained for unauthorised possession of nuclear material when police found quantities of radium, americium and uranium in his flat.
