There is. Gold or Swiss Franc. Gold was just a bit lower yesterday during the sell-off, but Swiss closed green.

I've been watching the global markets on and off all day. Not only did the US tank, but Europe did as well, and including China. The only winner so far was Japan, and they pretty much broke even.
All the more reason for Bernanke and his cartel to push QE3 into the cannon and blast away. I think we're all in agreement here that TPTB are running the show. Oddly enough, EVERYTHING tanked including oil and gold. That's a prime indicator the there is monetary manipulation in the works.

Right on OuttaTime.

They are flexing their mighty muscle by showing leaders and the financial market who is in charge.

TPTB make the rules, if people don't want to play the game they need to find something else.

But they are the only game in town right now.

This time last year it was US 1$ - AU 1.55 or something like that...

Things must be gettin pretty scary out there..

Strangely enough, I remember hearing how great the Japanese business model was... employment was for life (not legally but culturally), employees were taken care of if tragedy befell them, and in return they worked diligently to make money for their employers.

Now I am hearing how the Japanese economy has shifted to be more Western in attitude, and how the old model is giving way to a more profit-driven, self-centered one. And how the worker moral has also declined with it.

I find that interesting how profitability tends to lead to ego-centric actions, and it makes me wonder how long before China falls prey to the same human weakness.

There is a lone man in a large office with nothing but a desk with a computer sitting on it. He sits away from the windows. These families are shielded from the public. The Illuminati are just a front group to redirect any distractions.
There is a grand plan to lessen the US financial influence and develop a world currency and govt after a major collapse. This will lower the population and growth through unavailable anarchy. This is all well thought out, planned and executed.

Sounds like the synopsis of a novel that would never get a book deal because it's so far-fetched.

The "cracks" you're talking about are always evident if you look for them. This system isn't just going to go away, though, and there are no "interesting times ahead", despite your pity assertion to the contrary. The only way this system is going to go away is if we all ACTIVELY ABANDON IT, and tell our slave masters they are no longer in charge, their voodoo can't keep us enslaved if we don't allow it.

I don't think you have a very realistic understanding of the world at all. You seem to be suggesting that sharing the same delusion that the majority shares is being "realistic". It's just voluntary insanity. A "realistic" view of the world suggests this monetary system is an absurd and contrived game designed solely for the purpose of enslaving people. It produces nothing but waste and strife.

You apparently totally miss the point, which is that money and the monetary system do not "lubricate" the economy, but it can be used to grind the economy to a halt, as we've seen happen over and over again in our lifetimes. The monetary system is viewed almost universally as a benefit, it is not, it is nothing but a wasteful and onerous burden we all endure, voluntarily. It doesn't have to be that we. We can only be enslaved by this system so long as we allow it.

You're delusional. You're not alone, though, virtually everyone in the world shares your delusion that they "work for a living". If you think you "work for a living", ask yourself how much of your house you built, or how much of any house do you build when you "work for a living". How much food do you produce when you're "working for a living"? How much clean water to you gather when you're "working for a living"? How much energy, electricity, natural gas, whatever, do you produce when you "work for a living"? You're not working for a living, you're working to support the system of slavery that is imposed on you, a system that you imagine is your freedom. You are hopelessly enslaved so long as you continue to think that you are "working for a living". You produce none of the things that sustain your life, how can you possibly reconcile that with the phrase "work for a living"? Wake up, please, or stop typing in your sleep, because you are so obviously deranged to me I want to euthanize you.

I don't know, probably, but I do know for a fact a machine could do your job, better, longer, faster and without errors. People # their pants when you tell them a machine could be doing their job. They should rejoice at the fact that the world could carry on quite well (even better in fact) without them going to some factory or office or job site of any kind in exchange for money.

Ah yes, of course, that's what nearly everyone says, what would we do without money it'd go back to the dark ages we'd all have to eat nothing but turnips we grow in a tiny little piece of yard that we'd all have to fight for every day in between forays to the neighbors to murder and rape them all blah blah blah blah wake the # up please. I'm afraid I don't have the patience to reply to the rest of your comments, I quickly jump to the conclusion that you are hopelessly lost and enslaved by this voodoo system the rulers have imposed on you to perpetuate their feudal dictatorship.

And Seriously do you have to call someone delusional just cause they have a different view ?

Let's say your boss, whoever that is, tried to pay you with Monopoly money, and when you complained he simply said "it's money isn't it, you can pay for whatever you need with it, I promise". Would you call your boss delusional?

It sickens me to see so many people wasting so much time and effort discussing imaginary bull#. It's not just imaginary bull#, it's the voodoo that keeps you all enslaved by feudal lords who have been ruling us for thousands of years. Nobody is so helplessly enslaved than he who imagines he is free.

Look, you know and I know, money is a corrupt ponzi scheme. BUT!!! Going by the consensus of what MAINSTREAM MEDIA is puppeting to the zombies about money, it's a different story. Apparently you are under the impression that I like and support money. In the sheeple world, money makes the world go round, not in mine. I do not defend it at all. What you read in my earlier posts is THEIR mentality towards money. And I don't just preach that money is a WMD, I live it! I own no credit cards, no bank account, no investments, no assets, no IRA/401k, no memberships, no gold or silver, no cel phone. My home and car are paid off, I heat with wood in the winter, and I have a garden. If my TV and internet get shut off, big deal. Could care less as I don't need gladiator games and carnivals to entertain myself. So in your summation that "We can only be enslaved by this system so long as we allow it", I'm Wayyyy ahead of the curve

And what, pray-tell, have you done about the money monster? Do you practice what you preach?

Invest in practical, tangible items, such as guns, ammo, food, water, toilet paper, etc, just in case. When it hits, the prices of everything will sky rocket.

That's great if you are employed and have the money to spend on that stuff. Those of us who can't find work are not so lucky. Our fates are pretty much sealed, and it isn't a very good feeling. Being poor doesn't mean you are a bad person, in fact poor people are some of the best people there are, but in this cold world it's survival of the fittest, and luck has a little something to do with it as well.

Well, enjoy your post-apocalyptic survival. Remember to put some flowers on the graves of the poor.

Most of you just have J.O.B.'s that are on their way OUT! Time to pick up that pick and shovel; and get those seeds in the ground!!!
