What an interesting story.
Listening to his voice and the way he is telling his story , i find him and this to be a very convincing tale. But,,,, Why no photo.

Fair enough. But if he had taken a pic on his phone it'd just be dismissed as faked or 'shopped.

Surprising to hear this talked about on the BBC. Cheers arken, interesting stuff.

Not to say I wouldn't have appreciated a pic or a vid.

But, oh well.

he clearly said disc shaped. It was not your classic light in the sky as it had a visible shape other than that of a glowing ball.

seriously? you can't tell the writer is being sarcastic?

Hence what I said in my original comments.

I knew members would come on here and call it a HOAX!

Even if he had footage on his mobile, or a picture, Members would still say it is a hoax.

For anyone who is not familiar with the area then here is a link to an image on google maps.

maps.google.co.uk...,+Buntingford&hl=en&ll=51.946619,-0.080638&spn=0.007989,0.021136&sll=51.902765,0.120163&sspn=0.253771,0.676346 &t=h&z=16

The witness says he was driving through Cottered towards Buntingford, so it is possible he used the A507, which has many fields either side of it.

Only an idiot would attempt to use a phone to take a picture whilst driving, especially on a road like this one, so I see no reason why he should have taken evidence.

I have never been to the village myself, but it looks quite small, and I find it doubtful if anyone else was awake at that time to confirm his report.

This is really interesting. Especially makes it more credible that Mike Sewell was asking for additional witnesses.

Also, the commentary from Timothy Good was especially intrigiung. Back-engineered alien technology? I mean, obviously, I've read about that before, but particularly interesting to see it reported on the BBC.

DO you think maybe its because this sports guy is ENGLISH and BBC is ENGLISH ? I think we are all trying,,,,well you guys are trying(I"m not), so hard to believe a very lonely eye witness account. We can't even see his face while he is saying the this crap... Why isn't anyone in england interviewing him again?

If a sports guy(redneck) from Jackson,Mississippi saw a UFO would you believe him.

Why are you yelling the word "ENGLISH"? Haha

Because it's interesting to see the BBC (quite a conservative media outlet,) lend some credence to this story.

And I'm not sure what your point is about rednecks. I'd keep an open mind about any sighting, as I always do. I'm not *trying* to believe, but I am certainly interested.

Let's see if any other witnesses come forward.

But,,,, Why no photo. You would thought he would have enough time to take one, as he explained that he allegedly observed it for ' several minute's' and you would also think that he would have had a phone on him with a camera on it to take said photo , wouldn't you?????????.
Even if he didn't have a camera on his phone, you would at least thought he would have Phoned a Friend or just phoned anyone, Hey he could've even phoned the police to say what he was seeing. As he stated He had several minutes to do so.

In the UK it's illegal to use a mobile phone or camera while driving - unless it's hands free. And even then, you'd have to be a true idiot to use any device that distracts you while you're driving.

So, just because he didn't take a photo doesn't mean his story is a lie or it's a con - he was just following the law. And common sense.

Exactly,
The BBC is a public service, paid for by the public, they can and do make mistakes, but they don't like to be seen to be trivial. while they do cover UFO's and similar it's mostly in the form of documentary.

A lone sighting like this is unusual to be reported at length, and unusual to have the like of Timothy Good 'brought to the table' Good is an experienced observer of the UFO genre going back to the 50's, and his comments would be literal without sarcasm..he means what he says, whether or not he is believed.
The OP's link is to a BBC radio channel, so you won't see any pictures, believe it or not

I see the report as sincere, and what we should do here is try to make some sense out of it, what Timothy Good (the writer) said on the radio is as good a pointer as any, and us talking about rednecks and silly buggers just does not fit in this case.

For info on Good, I post the link again,

uforesearch.wikia.com...

You will see that he is quite a high profile in his fields, and is a genuine researcher, you do not have to agree with him, but at least appreciate what he does.

I yell that because americans tend to believe more an english man more than jersey shore sports guy. That's why.

But don't take it personal. Was just making a point that most people tend to do. Sorry about that.

And ,,,um,,, BBC is super liberal. Skynews is super conservative. BBC is ten times worse than MSNBC.

I have nothing against rednecks or any stereotype, but I use the redneck stereotype to show how people perceive the same exact information from different cultures. Its a natural human prejudice that we do automatically.

And your right ,let's see if someone else is brave enough to come forward. But I have feeling that won't happen. We are already on page 8.

Oh, I wasn't taking it personally. I actually think it's sort of endearing when you yell about stuff on ATS. At any rate, it makes me smile.

Well, the BBC is conservative for the UK. But you're right, compared to some media outlets in the US, it would seem quite liberal.

And I do agree with what you're saying about natural human prejudice, with regards to different cultures. And yes, let's see if anything happens, or anyone else comes forward.

I dont know if you have watched the news lately. But the governments of

Usa
China
Japan
Canada
Argentina
Mexico
Poland
Belgium
France
Uk
Germany
Holland

has now informed that they have 100%. In that statement they have released 128 000 documents,5 video sat cams ect wich has earlier been "Classified",now "Unclassified". And you have as a human being, the right to take the entire case to the COURT
. The other option is also contacting your government if its mentioned in the list,if you can have some proof. However the goverments dont see the reason for that since it has been released 128 000 + sat cam ect.

The documents are signed by still working goverment members and you can contact them regarding the case or atleast try.

Most people will want to SEE to believe, but then again. All the I-Countries are lying? Well the logic is pretty clear.

Btw, anyone wondering or confused why this made it into the BBC, its worth mentioning i guess the BBC's website actualy had UFO cams with live streaming based around Cornwall and Wales. Dont know if they are still running, been a few years since i lookd at them. But that alone says a fair bit about the BBC, though the cynic in me says its nothing more than a false story so they can do traffic analysis on there website.

i,e find out where all the traffic on a story like that comes from, handy marketing tool.

You see its good to bear in mind that despite the BBC's oddly unoffensive style of news reporting, giving it a weird, often un partisan, neutral feel, all rather polite isnt it just what what???. It is still the largest broadcasting company on the planet and as such should be treated with a healthy amount of distrust.

Did you ever think if its unclassified its because it really has no significance to anything? Since i have a huge life can you post your best item out of the 128,000 documents? please, pretty please.
