Everyone wins except the people.

Exactly. the threat of default meant what? Increased interest rates.....which means more of a cost to the middle class and poor.

Spending cuts?

More of a cut to the cost of living the the middle class and poor.

I'm failing to see how the "average joe" wins in this situation.

If we do not stand for the elderly, sick, and poor....well....

It's just like the old saying...

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

They should have put a provision stating that it shall be illegal for any lobbyists to approach the "divine dozen" to influence debt reduction legislation. But they never think of these things, or deliberately left it out.

Yes, and they should have made campaign contributions during this time off limits.

Can you imagine?

They used the threat of default...

This proposal comes just days after House and Senate leaders of both parties compliantly fulfilled White House demands to meet at 11:00 a.m. July 23, even though the President has no constitutional authority to demand that congressional leaders meet. An angry Obama told the press July 22,

"So here’s what we’re going to do. We have now run out of time. I told Speaker Boehner, I’ve told Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, I’ve told Harry Reid, and I’ve told Mitch McConnell I want them here at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow. We have run out of time. And they are going to have to explain to me how it is that we are going to avoid default. And they can come up with any plans that they want and bring them up here and we will work on them. The only bottom line that I have is that we have to extend this debt ceiling through the next election, into 2013.

The super-Congress proposal would put these same congressional leaders who obey unconstitutional White House orders in all-but-complete control of the debt limit, therefore making the White House the dominant force in debt-limit policies.

And we know which ones those are...

Now here is what I love about Ron Paul...you know what he did?

Ron Paul (R-Texas) — who is also a candidate for President — replied that Congressmen had an obligation to ignore the unconstitutional and dictatorial demands of President Obama:www.thenewamerican.com...

That kind of attitude really goes off big with TPTB,
They will get nowhere with him.

Back to the little people getting the screw...If you give somebody the power to inflate the currency, he will.
If you give somebody the power to spend in deficit, he will, they will raise taxes on the little guy,
and give the big corporations a continued break.

Big Banking, Big Government, Big Corp...its a revolving door. Oh...I fogot the politicians.

First they came for the Rich, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not Rich.

Then they came for the Corporations, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Corporation.

Then they came for the Lobbyist, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Lobbyist.

Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.
