I thought Jackie Robinson broke the "color barrier"??

Why do, stilll......Americans show their prejudice?????

For one....the sports writers and ESPN voted Deion sanders as the 34th best player of all time.....please???

He shut down the best receivers consistently.....

He was probably the fastest ever to play the game.... verified 4.2 .... fourty yard dash

He had the greatest punt/kick off returns ever filmed....

No quarterback ever threw his way....

and they make him 34th???????? crazy to me, at least!

Deion is in the top 5 for sure....!!!!

= = = = =

Two ... Albert Bell!

50 homers and 50 doubles?

.....in one season? Yep....

You probably never heard that before...wonder why?

If Mickey had done that it would be on the enshrinment corner-stone on the hall of fame....

Its a shame reallly...

btw, I'm an old WASP....who just see's well I guess??????

Why are people still starving in Africa?

Most ATS members think sports is just a facade to keep
the sheeple happy... Opiate for the masses....

I really do not care about deon sanders...

Most racist only watch nascar and hockey...
Right?

This thread seems racist to me...

So American sports fans are all prejudice because a sports network didn't vote Deion higher on it's list?

This is a joke....right?

Is this the list you are talking about? The one with Jerry Rice, Jim Brown and Lawrence Taylor on the top. (all black men) Yes that's very racist of them.

Your being prejudice against ESPN

It is irony.

Because that's where they felt he belonged. Good grief man relax...that has nothing to do with prejudice or racism.

That is your point my friend...that's the main point of your OP.

Deion didn't make it as high as you think he deserves...so what. There are other minority athletes way up on that list. Your point doesn't make any sense.

Spots 3-9 are all non-Caucasian, so how is ESPN or the average sports fan prejudiced?

Deion is the 3rd DB on the list behind Ronnie Lot and Night Train Lane. Never saw Night Train play, but Ronnie Lott was a beast at Safety. Maybe the list is just prejudice against DB's ?

As for Albert Belle - he had some impressive hitting seasons. He also injured a reporter by throwing a baseball at him, chased kids off his property after a Halloween prank, and was caught with a corked bat that an Indians teammate stole back from the MLB by crawling through a space in a ceiling in the bowels of Comisky Park... I'm pretty sure he gets the respect he deserves.
