I posted the video for the truth that is evident within the words that he says, if Donald Duck had said the same words I would have posted a video of that too

Description of Genetic Fallacy

A Genetic Fallacy is a line of "reasoning" in which a perceived defect in the origin of a claim or thing is taken to be evidence that discredits the claim or thing itself. It is also a line of reasoning in which the origin of a claim or thing is taken to be evidence for the claim or thing. This sort of "reasoning" has the following form: The origin of a claim or thing is presented. The claim is true(or false) or the thing is supported (or discredited). It is clear that sort of "reasoning" is fallacious. For example: "Bill claims that 1+1=2. However, my parents brought me up to believe that 1+1=254, so Bill must be wrong." It should be noted that there are some cases in which the origin of a claim is relevant to the truth or falsity of the claim.
For example, a claim that comes from a reliable expert is likely to be true (provided it is in her area of expertise).

Examples of Genetic Fallacy

"The current Chancellor of Germany was in the Hitler Youth at age 3. With that sort of background, his so called 'reform' plan must be a facist program."

Logical fallacies

You are me, I AM you. That about sums up your question and point of this thread.

Now, about this post... That was a brilliant run on sentence that I AM about to exceed due to my own egotistical representation and perspective of the world in which I and indeed we live in by the graces of the great Creator that is indeed nothing more than YOU; that part of you ,or some refer to as Atman, that to the deepest core Knows you are One with all that IS and in so doing are repeating the beauty that is "reality" or as the Hindu say "Maya" that is the grand illusion where I am reminded of an incredible post by a dear contributor of this site regarding computer graphics but I digress insofar as losing the point of this sentence which is run-on.

How aposite these words are,and how simply delivered, but the message loses none of its relevance in its simplicity.
We should remember these sentiments the next time we are quick to judge or ridicule someone.

To put it simply,

I respond to your statements like this.

HORSE CRAP. Dont apologize for people that were every bit as evil as we have now.

Then you show your shameful inability to think rationally.

Ron Paul is evil.

I disagree sorry.
This is not about the words but the man.
The words have been spoked before by many, there is nothing new under the sun.
Not to forget that when someone sleep with the "enemy" like he did, you can't stop thinking that this people had some agenda.
Some said that many people spoked highly about Hitler or the bolchevic in those days, yes... for the simple reason that people liked this regimes which where lowering the salary and increasingi productivity. This was made clear by the "Synarchy". It is all about the Capital, nothing less and nothing more.
So in retrospect what this guy said is banal for the people that mean this words and revolutionary for the people that like to play with the classes.

Had nothing to do with regimes. Most people who supported the concepts were actually workers. Europe was very pro-Socialist and pro-Communist at the time, especially the working classes.

You could argue if you wanted that WWII killed the workers-rights movement in Europe.

The point being saying of someone "They supported the Soviet Union in the 1930's!!!?!?!" is just immature and shows a blatant ignorance to history and opinion of the time. Supporting the Soviet Union back then was nothing to be ashamed of. Plenty of things look good and turn out bad.

What a beautifuly simple and wisdom-packed message. I'm sure everyone has heard someone say somthing along these lines before, but that doesn't mean it's any less true.

TRUTH, LOVE, and WISDOM are vital resources that we need now, more than ever. TRUTH, LOVE, and WISDOM will save us, if we allow it. We all must do our part, especially in these disturbing times.

Much love to everyone on ATS,

Allowed me to the contrary.
The masses that liked this kind of regimes where brain wash.
I was talking about the plutocracy that supported Hitler and Staline ways..
The same elite, not people, are doing the same thing today.
You see, what is important in life, no mater what you are , is that you are true to your own truth...and you know what !! your own truth is my truth...universally a like this is what we are....there is no place for separatism .
You cant say; I am for the liberation of humanity and like someone that says ;
" Humanitarianism is the expression of stupidity and cowardice"
Please remember that true messages are true to the core and never corrupted .

Please...no you wouldn't have posted Donald duck quotes on here, no matter how philosophical those quotes could have been.
The think is that you get impress by a white air old men that can personify intellectualism and "retenue".
Please don't answer yet and just reflect on the ideal...you are white Caucasian and you see someone that could be you in the future therefor you found his words uplifting but really empty of real substance....this is why you have people that wants to argue the honesty of the words spoked by this men.
Because when never philosophical emptiness rises fraud followed soon.
Good day to you.

And the trolling begins

We will have to disagree on Russel. You will not convince me of his "innocence" and I'll not convince you of his guilt.

Ron Paul? Kinda reaching arent ya?

I'll be leaving this thread before a mod does it for me.

Thanks OP.

Interesting words,very simple but meaningful.

He might not be the man that he seems when saying things like that, but who is?

Theres some great meaningful quotes by rockstars or musicians, but they were off their face when they thought of them or said them.

Does that make it any less true or meaningful?

I dont think it does, others might disagree though.

Cheers

Bucky! Yes! Back then intellectuals like Bucky looked to the future with a creativity that elevated mankind in his environment, by careful use of the environment. The future was bright because of new ideas, not because of more or more of the same old ideas. And intellectuals like Bucky tried to tell us that cooperation was the key to mankind's survival.

For some this type of cooperation was more of a kumbaya pipe dream, meant for dirty, stinking hippies and not the Marlborough man. The advertising image of the lone, rugged individual was placed over the eyes of voters in political fights to lead the nation with platforms containing cultural and societal overhauls.

After 1980 things changed. People were encouraged to want more and to want more of the same thing, dooming us to a loop of self-destruction. Thinking was replaced with religious belief, of a type that placed man squarely in an environment over which the individual (or even group!) had no control.

Of course, corporations, through increasing political influence, could still control the environment, and such narrow focused thinking (and division!) of the populace allowed for ever increasing corporate control. We in America are left today a narrow, stinking, burnt out shell of who we were meant to be.

Walt Disney was another great visionary back then, but even his dreams ended up this way:

Contrast this with today’s Innoventions attraction at Disneyland, which may be compelling product placement for companies like Honda and Microsoft, but does not speak to the unifying power behind Disney’s original vision of illuminating the future.

source

"unifying power"...cooperation....tolerance....yes, "hatred is foolish"

I say you're brainwashed.

The elite never supported Socialism or Communism and never will. Typical of a German to know nothing about his own history. Stop watching Hollywood movies and get a grip on reality.

I'm not saying he's innocent, I'm saying his negative traits aren't worth mentioning. Because if we held everyone of significance in human history to the standards of today, well, they're all scum. That's the point.

And no I'm not reaching. Ron Paul supports racism and discrimination on the back of his pro-choice business views. You might not think there's anything wrong with that, but that's just as evil as supporting eugenics. And worse still Ron Paul is alive in 2011, there's no excuse for his backwards views. BR was backwards on many issues, but he lived in backwards times so it's to be expected.

What excuse does RP have for his racism and fascism?

However, 2 issues. 1, the illuminati doesn't exist and 2, plenty of Europeans thought highly of the Soviet Union and Hitler at the time.

So someone saying in 1931 "There is no hope for this world outside the Soviet Union." might sound unusual to you, given the anti-Soviet, anti-Communist, hell even anti-Socialist propaganda in America, but such viewpoints were very prevalent across Europe.

He also held some pretty racist views, if you want to go all out.

Really? You are defending a racist that said, "Love is wise and hatred is foolish." I hate hypocrites. Trying to defend hypocrisy is like trying to put back the diapers after you are done for having an affinity to bald vaginas. Yes, that is sick but you get the picture.

Bottom line, don't defend hypocrisy, it's sick...
