Maybe im missing something here, but I'm really not sure how you came to that conclusion from the little snippet you quoted in your post..

Mm, ok. I'm purely responding to the fact that the response to the article stated:

Delta force aren't human, which is why there was a Delta team on standby the entire mission in one of the waiting back up helicopters to make sure nothing went wrong.

Now, that statement - to me - is interesting. I'm not inferring that they are "supersoldiers" or any such sci-fi concept, but I was merely asking if anyone knows what he meant.

I have met and socialised with ex-special forces, and know for a fact that they are a breed apart. They are also damn scary people, quite human but frightening in their approach to life, and death. There is an animalistic slant to their psyche, one that lifts them above the norm that allows them to do the most appaling things to themselves and others in the name of one cause or another.

Maybe the respondee actually meant "Delta force are human..." which is far more logical.

You Sir, are exactly correct and that is exactly why I put this up.
And to expand on your point. The Obama Administration still allows the photo of Obama and Co sitting around "Watching it as it unfolds" photo to be labeled as "as it happened".
Thank you for putting the words to my reason for putting it up.
Star (an no offense taken by any means).
All is good people.. I am watching over you... Trust me.... (ugh)

So you think they are NOT watching the whole thing unfold in the picture above?
Then what are they watching to get those shocked looks...The Exorcist? SAW?
Kind of dumb...Since it is them watching it all unfold though maybe not in real time.

I really liked your original post because it was an exciting event and the details are incredible. I read a bit of this story yesterday, about the one soldier who squeezed Obamas 2 wives together in a bear hug so if they were wearing explosive vests they'd detonate together. Amazing stuff.

But all this Obama as a comrade, propoganda pictures you are including is just distracting from the integrity and authenticity of your post and thread. You can't on one hand be impressed with the capture or kill and then turn around and ridicule the man who called for the mission and ordered it carried out. You can but it is disingenuous and a little hypocritical. A cheap shot.

And maybe a little off topic, but here is an example:
During a recent event for the Apollo 11 Astronauts a woman doing the catering freaked out because I had hung up a picture of Obama giving the 3 Apollo 11 Astronauts a medal in the White House.
"None of us like Obama", she said and ripped the photo down because... "he is getting rid of the shuttle program."
A newspaper reported stepped in and said very politely, "Ma'am, I am an American and I will thank you not to disrespect the office of President of United States. I may not salute the man but I will respect and salute the office of President" He is correct.

Salute the Office of President of the United States.
If you don't, the office of President of the US, is not worth a damn.

Besides, I had to graciously suck it up when the blue blood hayseed was frigging things up in office, giving my money away and starting wars...and so think people should do the same now.

The names of those SEALs, the helicopter pilots/aircrew, etc should NEVER be released. Their families would be targeted and it would cause all sorts of problems.

Even today in 2011 we still don't know all the names of the 56 US Army Special Forces troopers who attacked the Son Tay Prison Camp in North Vietnam in 1970. Only the name of the raid commander, Col. Arthur Simmons has been released. Of course, their are rumors that so and so was a member of the assault force but the full roster has yet to be released. Sadly the the North Vietnamese had moved the prisoners beforehand and so the raid was only a partial success (we captured and killed numerous Soviet and Chinese advisors). Only 2 Americans were wounded. About 60 North Vietnamese, Soviets, and Chinese troops were killed.

so now USA is employing suicide commandos

which means some serious brainwashing/ dehumanizing conditioning is being employed here.
this is what is meant by delta-force not being human, by the way, they're a more extreme version of killer robot.

Wrong. What it is is a SEAL that's willing to die to save his friends.

Sorry, Gus. You're wrong again. Do some research and you'll see many cases in history where one Soldier would be willing to die to save his friends.

You do know what "research" is, right?

Ah, I get it! According to you, and whatever rocket scientist starred your BS post, OBL is the victim here, right?

Talk about "brainwashed".

i agree 100% there with you "old"

in spirit

what's needed in this country i not for the "old folks" and the rest of the people "to rumble"

but to stand firm.

ultimately, the system requires the sanction of it's victims

take away your sanction

why are so many still paying their taxes never mind voting?

take away your sanction, and stand firm.

an armed uprising will fail, because they are expecting that,
indeed, seem to be provoking the whole country to it.

oh and for those idolizing the god-emperor [with POWER OF LIFE AND DEATH ©] KIng Oreo®'s
elite killer-drones, talking about "breeds apart":

breeds? are we frikking animals, to be talking about breeding and human beings in the same sentence?
talk about double think.

lol they better hope anonymous doesn't hack them
pretty hard to be seen as an upstanding and respected member of the community,
when everybody knows you're a hit man for the government.

How anyone can believe this is beyond me? Like another poster said, we've been lied to far more than we've been told the truth (WMDs anyone?), and their 9/11 plan has made it easy as pie. I'll give them credit, they know exactly how joe public's mind works.

Yes, of course. But, the "other side" will say that it is because they broke laws etc and they should be able to hvae access to him -legally, to potentially bring an International Law suit against the US?

This is the reason why the men that were involved wore a US uniform. You are afforded certain protections as you are in essence an extension of the whole. This was a case where these men where acting on behalf of the US and as far as the US is concerned, any charges that may be filed can only be against the US government. Any formal proceedings against the individuals would otherwise be blocked as to the true identity of them. Realistically speaking though, no one could single out the man who actually pulled the trigger.

Think about it, this was a conspiracy against someone, it took many people to make this work, and legally all would be accomplices and must be charged as well, that would be one hell of mess of lawsuits. As bad as some people think about our military, they do not typically make it operating procedure to simply hand over their own people just because some other government demands it. Especially some of the best soldiers on the planet and even yet, when they got away with it. The Geneva Convention also covers this as well. So, any legal proceedings against the individuals will not happen, any attempt will only be met with a stone wall.

We should never know the true identities of the people, as far as far as I am concerned the military did it. At the end of the day, does it really matter the details, play by play of the entire event? The object; kill bin Laden, I know the general details and the layout and what they planned. I think I can piece together the events with certain key points of information on my own and achieve the goal. I got it, good enough any way.

As far as why there are not any pictures, blah blah. As I see it, the way it has been presented and my interpretation of the details is that they seem to be following a code, so to speak. I suppose it may be out of respect to the defeated enemy. I have read books about warriors of history and some tend to never disrespect their fallen enemy, and afford them certain honors and respect. As far as the burial, I think it certainly served some sort of purpose for the US benefit, and at the same time I think we still honored his religious beliefs, as much as possible, considering the circumstances. I guess a modern day equivalent would be the customary shaking of hands between sports teams after the match is over. I can respect our governments decision to handle the details as they have, even if it is not for the same reasons as I theorized.

The only way I see us finding out who any of the individuals on the ground were is if they come forward themselves. Then some of us will think he is telling the truth, and some think he is a glory hound. Conspiracies are around every corner.
