Prince Albert-area organic seed grower sues Monsanto over seed patents

But Monsanto Canada spokesperson Trish Jordan said the plaintiffs are wasting their time and money since Monsanto has never sued any producer for accidentally growing GM plants in their fields.

"I would suggest that they save their money because Monsanto has never sued any grower anywhere,'' Jordan said. "We have publicly committed that we would never sue a grower for an inadvertent presence of any of our (GM) traits that happened to have ended up at some low level in their field.

"It's never happened and it never will happen.''

While Monsanto may not have sued producers for inadvertently growing GM plants, they successfully sued Percy Schmeiser, a Bruno-area producer, for patent infringement.

In 2004, after a long legal battle between Monsanto and Schmeiser, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that growing GM plants constitutes use of the patented invention of GM plant cells.

Still don’t work here.

Think there is too many people trying to listen.

The ATS show has always had a tendency to run an unusually large bandwidth stream. I think they may need to cut down on the bandwidth a little bit.

Not working for me either, 3rd week in a row. Rebooted, listened to video on YT, so don't understand what it could be. Is it maybe only available in the US and not in Canada now? Can see chat voyeur. WooW just came through for me now!

I just ditched the online feed and cranked the big dish over to the KU band DVB feed. It doesn’t have the glitching in it that the online feed has. . I think i will stick to that feed from now on.

Online feed has been annoying me for a while.
