This article Claims it was over a court case. The reported official stated that many officers were being held in connection to a court case stating they had ties to a plot against the government. He and his counterparts were resigning in protest to this apparent strong arm justice.

****EDIT

On further reading this plot was reportedly a False Flag operation of some sort, to instigate war with greece. More of the same if you ask me. Two "political parties" pointing fingers and calling each other liars. SSDD.

Yeah right .. that was as much a false flag operation as the last 10 times the Turkish military threw over the government. It's kind of a tradition there .. the military watches out that the government doesn't get all too islamistic .. same old story, just nowadays the Generals rather step down instead of sending tanks to the parliament.

Syria? .. I thought the Government didn't want us talking about Syria? We are only opposed to some dictators. Others are ok.

That would make more sense.. the Turkish Constitution allows the Army to remove civilian leaders for what ever reason.. seems like the civilians are trying to fight back. (Which, is NOT a good thing since they are usually extreme Muslims and the Turkish Army is very progressive, albeit still very violent)
