LOL ok Metallica was more popular though

By the time I picked up on it anyway

My first love was Madonna - my 2nd love was Motley Crue

I listened to Misfits and Danzig long before I knew the lyrics to Ride The Lightning

I fail when it comes to years.

Metallica is still 2 albums ahead though

Madonna kills them all (haha I made a funny)

absolutely timeless
they always sound like Aerosmith!
they never change unlike some artist *coughmetallicahack*

I need some water

Well, I would rather listen to Metallica the Aerosmith. In the end, they both smell pretty bad.
Edit: Some bands don't have "lasting power" because people generally have bad taste, ie: Aerosmith, Metalicca, Lady Gaga, etc...
Klaus was gay and dying of aids in a time people thought they could get it by being in the same room as someone...
And Daniel Johnston was AWESOME, but he didn't have a major label promoting his strange sounds, and he was bat# crazy. MAINSTREAM music blows.

Did you see my reply? I know both of the artists you speak of - much respect, especially DJ - I only know Klaus for a couple songs but DJ has quite a few - for me they fit a certain mood...he sure did get MTV exposure...

I always envisioned playing lead in an Aerosmith cover band in 4th grade, trying to impress my gf...also, throwing stars, anyone reciprocating? hahahaha!!

For me Rory Gallagher was one of the most underated artists of the 70s & 80s , He didnt even make inti the top 100 guitarists of all time ,an absolute travesty, he should have been in the top 10.... Heres why....

The ventures
Led Zepelin
the beach boys
The Beatles;
The doors;
The rolling stones
grateful dead
Jimi hendrix
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Crosby Still Nash and Young
Eagles
pinkfloyd
Heart
Jethero Tull..
Bob Seeger

Which decade (s)?

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I used to own a copy of N.W.A. "I'm not the other color so police think they have the authority to kill a minority"... I didn't have to look that up.

Next time I get an iTunes card I need to update my list of Devo songs. I can see I'm missing a few that I really liked and had forgotten about.

Devo is one of my all time favorite 80's new wave bands, but the Talking Heads were the best!

Also, let us not forget Oingo Boingo and Wall of Voodoo,
