An ocean exploration team led by Swedish researcher Peter Lindberg has found what some are suggesting is a crashed flying saucer. Lindberg's team, which has had success in the past recovering sunken ships and cargo, was using sonar to look for the century-old wreck of a ship that went down carrying several cases of a super-rare champagne. Instead, the team discovered what it claims is a mysterious round object that might (or might not) be extraterrestrial.

For all kids from ATS: The Thing was one of best, unforgettable horrors ever made.

All I get from that article is: well it could be nothing, OR the find of the century, but meh...no interest to bother finding out for sure when profitability is uncertain.

If every person who had searched for great discoveries took that attitude, then we wouldn't have even 1% of the knowledge we do about lost Egyptian tombs, dinosaurs, Neanderthals, extinct sea life, and the list goes on and on.

So instead of being annoyed at this guy and his team, I'll just hope that a better team of researchers who are up to the challenge takes on the job instead.

The ocean exploration team which found it claims that the earth around the craft has been scarred, suggesting it has tried to move around.

Lead researcher Peter Lindberg also suggested that another explanation could be that it was 'a new Stonehenge'.



The 'discovery' has sparked a flurry of speculation by UFO watchers and bloggers.

Some have even suggested it resembles the Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars series, with its distinctive front forks and round shape.

Newspapers in Sweden have put the story on their front pages and asked if this is really the first sign of extra-terrestrial life.

The shape was found at the bottom of the Gulf of Bothnia during a search for a sunken wreck which contained several cases of champagne.
