My First Time

A little background as to why I would be outside at 2:00am. I have had insomnia for many years and last night I took 25mg Ambien with a couple glasses of red wine and chasedit with Jack Daniels. I took my dog outside just after 2:00am and noticed how clear the sky was with all the neighborhood lights out. I saw a meteor so I pulled out my IPhone and began filming hoping to catch one on video. However, meteors were not the only thing in the sky last night. I noticed this extremely bright star which I had not noticed before last night. As I was watching it, it seemed to be grwoing tentacles, as this point I figured the Ambien, wine and Jack Daniels were imperring my mind and reasoning abilities. I snapped nine or ten pitures of this thing with my phone and am eager to share them, however, I cannot figure out how to post them. My work has thesecomputers locked down tighter than a (insert your favorite pun). I have an error message that reads "Active Content Removed" is this what is preventing me from placing the picture directly into this post?

To recap, pictures taken July 29, 2011 between 2:00am - 2:30am in Ft. Collins, CO looking east using an Iphone 3GS

I would love to get these things posted and hopefully someone can sharpen them up for our viewin pleasure..

upload your photos to ats media.. if you click the tab that says tools at the top, you will get a page with a tab at the top saying pictures. click on that and you should be able to work it out if you have a basic knowledge of computers..
you can also set your avatar on this page..

ill have a look at your pictures when you post them, but to be honest im not holding my breath seeing as its an iphone..

Go to the following link, log in with your ATS username/password and upload your photos there. When they are uploaded, it will provide the code under the image to add to your post so that you can display the image in your post.

I have seen an odd and very bright "star" so to say, in the sky the other day. I haven't seen it since then. My rational explanation is that it was Jupiter but I am not entirely certain.

The reason it looked odd for me is because it had some kind of stretched line under it which reminded me of a tentacle just like you mentionned OP. My friend who was with me claimed to see a red dot but I didn't.

I live in Québec/Canada. I was looking to the east. It was on july 24th near midnight.

More seriously, I don't give much importance to that sighting. I'm sure I can't explain just due to a lack of astronomy knowledge.

so your "first time" was with your dog in the early hours of the morning?

ok you had some wine and JD, but that's no excuse... so glad you did not post any pics of this momentous event!

If you want to upload pictures, then go to your (tools+ ) tab then select the (pictures) tab.
You can upload them to your personal pictures than copy the link of your picture to be posted in a post here.

then when you want to post the picture on the post click on the image button and past the path that you copied.

I'd hazard the alcohol might have had something to do with it

But if your being honest, then why not simply upload the pics from your home computer? Or do you not have one?

Thanks for the help everyone, including the snide remark about my first time with my dog in the early morning, one never know what you're capable of with the cocktail I had going on

I have the pics uploaded and will post them quickly. There are a couple which just show nothing more than a white undefined image, then they become more colorful....

I once saw my initials written on the surface of the moon after a session of something I cannot talk about here on ATS due to the T&C's, go figure...

But at least your honest about your intake, the pictures will speak for themselves when upload. Don't expect anything less than snide remarks until they are posted, we will be waiting.
