America, Don’t Forget Your Vets!

Well its no news that veterans get the short end of the stick after every war in history it seems…the WWII guys got the GI bill and a booming economy, I guess, but ever since it’s been disdain, poverty, mental illness, ingratitude, and sacrifices forgotten.

Even if you don’t agree with the war or don’t like the military or whatever, consider this: Take many thousands of young men and women and train them to kill. Then dump them back on the streets with no money and a laughable support network and what do you think is going to happen to society with a bunch of disenfranchised professional soldiers wandering around the streets? I leave you to contemplate. Society owes both these men and women and the general public alike a smooth and assisted transition back to civilian life.

The situation is of course worse with the wounded.
