Hmmmm..interesting. Actually, she needs to start spending some time alone, and praying. Also, she might try reading the King James version of the "new testament", the "old testament" can be really boring for a beginner...!!! But, the first thing to do is to ask God for forgiveness in the name of Jesus. Ever wonder why people end prays with, "in Jesus name"....??? Duh...its because God is God and the only way to "God" is through his son....So God is God and Jesus is Lord over this earth.

Harry Potter Series.

That did it for me. I mean, at the end of the movie in the tunnel... it's all white and heavenly. I can only assume that is heaven then. And Dumbledor is actually God, by the way.

ha.. that one made me laugh out loud!

No offense OP, but reading the bible actually made me more aware of just how corrupt God really is.

If your sister is looking for something that reads like a story, then I can recommend a book that showed me the trailhead away from religion and into personal experience.

Have her try reading What Dreams May Come, by Richard Matheson. NOT the same as the movie (although the movie was based on the book). The book is the story of a fictional character whos story is based on real life experiences from many sources.

This, of course, is only a jumping off point. Afterwards I would recommend diving into the realm of personal experience by trying her hand at OBEs or AP. A good place to begin piquing the interest in these topics are Robert Monroe's books. I would recommend starting with the second book, then reading the first, and finally reading the third.

Good luck!

In my opinion the book 'The Hidden Mystery Of The Bible' by Jack Ensign Addington is second only to the Bible . In this book Mr. Addington explains how after years of working in the ministry found this code in the Bible.

A**provable** esoteric code found by Jack Ensign Addington.

This code goes on to explain how one becomes 'enlightened'. This involves the realising what is
WRONG with oneself and dwelling on those bad traits and totally and utterly destroying
to the last 'man, woman, child and animal'.. thought.. bad thought.
This is why there seems to be so much death and destruction in the Bible.

This is a class they teach somewhere ..

PS 107 - Metaphysical Interpretation and Review of the Bible
(39 hours/13 weeks)
This class, based on Jack Addington's book, The Hidden Mystery of the
Bible," will introduce New Thought students to the hidden or esoteric
meanings of Biblical scriptures. Students will begin to understand
the deeper meanings of names, places and numbers found in the Bible, and
will uncover an infinite source of illumination and wisdom.

Textbooks:
The Hidden Mystery of the Bible, Jack Addington; The Science of Mind,
Ernest Holmes; The Bible

Hi dom,

No books needed.

If your sister really wants to get in touch with her god, all she has to do is ask him.

Do you mean that she needs to know who God is? If so, keep away from the bible.

Stay away from the Bible ? Where else is there any writings about Jesus ? There is no other 'book' which contains the writings of Christ. Of any widespread use anyhow. There are 'Gospels' but the only place she can find anything about Jesus is the Bible. If you don't 'believe' in the Bible as a book to be read then one might wonder HOW do YOU know anything about Jesus ? Sunday school ? Not everyone has read the Bible for their own reasons. It is though the ONLY real place there is anything written about Christ. As to WHAT the 'take home message' in the Bible is is a matter for debate and in some cases contention / blasphemy. Blaspheny can still get you killed in some places.

Peyote. No book could ever truly give her what a psychedelic experience can do for her. It's the equivalent of reading about the Grand Canycon as opposed to going there

That would be the 'connection' being made by 'skeptics' to 'gods' of old in Greece and sht ? I've read about it but have written it off to spiritual warfare and stick to my understanding of Christ.
