So when you cannot afford to pay for surgery, are you also going to use a bread knife / butter knife and a cigerette?

So no US hospital will ever refuse to give healthcare?

I get confusing messages from the US population here posting.

On one hand we have a guy perform his own surger, people being refused and now you're saying nobody is refused.

Can you please explain to non Americans?

Currently, it is illegal for hospitals to refuse care where a person's life is in peril. But, it's just another law that is being more commonly accepted at convenience. I've read a few stories of people dying in ER waiting areas after several hours of waiting. I know most doctors hear that you smoke, it doesn't matter anymore. The cigarettes are causing the problem. NEXT!
Barry was preaching how good universal healthcare in Canada is, how come canadians are coming here for their surgeries? Couldn't be the usual several months on a waiting list to get necessary operations.

The butter knife guy could have went to the emergency room, but for a poor or low wage person it could mean 20-40 years of debt.
