And why should north americans not be able too get info from SOHO a NASA web site here in north america ,,,as they download,,,,, and instead be forced to use alternate web sites from half way around the world, in this day and age, that is just NUTS.
and wait for them to discard this and only show that,,its still NUTS,, in this day and age.
This appears to have been posted just days ago, a staggering amount of research and photos

SpaceObs.org was disabled
"We have determined that based on the excessive resource utilization your account is not a good fit for a VPS account since not only your VPS is crashing due to the high resource usage but you are also impacting the actual hardware node on which the VPS is created. Unfortunately due to the severe nature of the problem your web service access has been disabled." Sorry, but now server was disabled. I can't pay for dedicate server.

Our cheapest server is $240/mo and cheapest VPS is about $50/mo if you actually want to do something with it. I'm sure SpaceObs is getting huge traffic due to the Elenin farce and if he has a MySQL backend that makes the drives spin and even with isolated resources on the VPS the I/O is not isolated. The drives can only spin so fast. We are awaiting a new version of the OS CloudLinux which is based on the CentOS distro and soon will be able to limit I/O per account. It will be awesome, but even this won't help Leonid Elenin's hosting problem. He needs a dedicated server.
