First Image of Comet Elenin from space...

Image resolution is small, but comet is visible in the coordinates - 160 0 (slightly right from the center of image). Images taken at distance about 240,000,000 km (1.6 AU). I would like to remind you, that two days later, comet C/2010 X1 (Elenin) will be in 32 times closer to the other spacecraft - STEREO-B.

Interesting to say the least...Leonid Elenin updated his blog/page with this little tidbit...

I'm not even sure what im looking at but I figure I'd pass it along, if this is the actual image, then the comet has a very interesting shape... hmm...

Im not sure if what I'm looking at is the actual comet or just a landscape picture of space with density markers. Any insight?

Comet Elenin is the very small white dot right of center traveling from the bottom to the top at. It is very small in the pic.

Ummm... Okay I see the comet, and yeah thats cool. The thing behind tho, ummm What is it? Is it a planet, Ship, Nibriu, moon? Whatever? I can't wait for more on this!

For all anyone knows Stereo B could have already been zapped into infinity. On it's site they could be showing loop footage. Is Elenin a magnetar? That's scary.

Consider this: It's more scary if it's just a small comet, because then what causes the "effects"?
What effects? Go back in time to to Feb. This is a real "squinter". A tough one to understand.

well, i appreciate your sharing this and have been in anticipation for some good pics for a while but unfortunately i have tried the link and tried to access the site from my shortcuts and favorites and i tried typing it in manually to no avail, ill check back later but if anyone can post the pics here to that would be great and thanks in advance

I heard stories about a huge ion storm with this comet, is that true? Major disruption as we pass through the tail?

Will we get comet showers when it passes by from break up maybe from interaction somehow?
