The arguments go round and round, essentially repeating in this thread over and over.
It's the very height of stupidity.

Well don't let the door hit you on the way out

OH and BTW suggesting ATS users are on drugs is against the T&C just FYI

You MUST be joking. The insect is very close to the lens. It appears to change direction at a 90 degree angle because the speed of the camera can't keep up with the insect. Of course it's not "following" a light, the light is stationary. It is not glowing. Why would the government want a glowing aircraft? They don't. So you're saying it's aliens. Aliens in a glowing disco spaceship. It "deems" as it glows? Honestly, are you high?

The normal behavior of any moth you will see...if there is a light around...is to flutter up to it and stay there until they die usually.

Thanks for your work in getting the slow-mo version online. You can see the full flight of the bug now.

If anyone thinks for one second that this is some sort of alien spacecraft, do any of you see how close it gets to the horizon? Do any of you who believe that it's an alien spacecraft have any idea how big Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas is and how many people would've seen this object?

Nobody else has reported it, nobody else has recorded it. Because it was a bug close to the camera. Can we please put this to rest and move on? Thank you.

I would be interested in hearing the camera operator's perspective on what he/she viewed too.

There shouldn't be a light source anywhere near the back of the camera. What would it be illuminating, the whole skyline of Fort Worth for a camera shot?

I definitely thought it was a bug initially, but now I have second thoughts of it being a bug.

Skylines of all cities are illuminated... in this case if people would watch it in full screen they would see there is a layer of smog or fog on the skyline like most cities too and the object passes through it...this seems clear to me.

Look, you think it's a bug, that's all you can control. If people want to go on thinking it's something else, they are going to, and continuing to tell people to put it to rest isn't going to help anything. If you have no more use for this thread, than just don't post in it. If other people want to keep posting believing it's some alien spacecraft, it's their right, and there's nothing that's going to change their minds, obviously.

Zorgon,

Thats a great video, thanks for posting.

I can consider this as a viable explanation, among a few others.

Thanks for dropping in.

I am still attempting to watch the HD version, and may have some interesting
points to make.

Ok I got them to put the HD clip on the NBCDFW website. It is better, you can tell by comparing the edges of the graphics, though am not sure if resolution was changed getting it to the web. Took quite a bit of work getting it from one piece of equipment to the web. Sorry about the delay.

Thanks again Fullblast, that is awesome footage. Finally the traffic cleared up enough
so that I could view it.

The object has a very clear uninterrupted descent, curve continued uninterrupted, and
then the smooth pull up.

Definitely not a bug.

You forgot to add "in my opinion" to your post. It's definitely not a bug in your opinion. Some flying insects have the most amazing flight characteristics, and some of their flight characteristics are almost unexplainable.

Watch as insects dart, swoop, and instantly change directions:

There are plenty more videos on the internet where those came from.

I know some of you people want to believe so badly that it is a real alien spacecraft. As I've already stated, as low as that "object" gets to the ground and as bright as it would have been if it was some sort of light source, alot more people would've seen it, reported it, and recorded it. But the facts are:

  • Nobody else reported seeing a UFO that night.

  • Nobody else recorded a similar object that night.

Those facts alone should automatically tell you that this isn't a UFO flying through clouds in the sky. Yet there are several here in this thread that will still cling to the fantasy that it's a UFO no matter what.

I guess my IQ is too high to comprehend how one can cling to a fantasy despite the facts. But I guess that's just me.

Actually I was the first to post a video in this thread of bugs at night.

being very confident that this is not a bug.

And just an FYI, there have been many reports in the days preceding this sighting.

Along with the fact that the most qualifed people I know have viewed this,
and they all concur, its not a bug. But, since that information is in plain sight,
and those posts are within the thread, those qualified people just state opinions.

They cant take you flying with them.

I'll leave you and your thread with this:

I'm very disturbed, perplexed, baffled, and disappointed at the "confidence" that it's not a bug. Your opinion and you're entitled to it.

One thing threads like this are good for is showing who is credible and can be taken seriously in these discussions, and who can't.

    Cheers.

That's quite curious because I've seen many qualified people post in this thread that it was a bug. I consider myself very qualified as well. Go figure...

**Edit to add - Looks like most people that think it was a bug got the most stars as well. That is also very telling. Go figure again. I would argue that whoever you think is "qualified", might not be so much.

I know, I can see that your bothered that I decided to make up my own mind, and refuse
to be swayed by a few posts that have as many stars as the op, stating its a bug. But your
right, I am entitled to my own opinion, thank you.

I hope your not offended, I see that we most likely agree about a few other topics including 9/11.

If a bug can so easily cause such a display on this camera feed, I would expect more examples of this sort of behavior. Bugs are commonplace, so we should be able to find other footage from this same camera that exhibits the same sort of pattern.

    /doesn't think it's a bug
//doesn't think it's an alien spacecraft
///not arrogant enough to pretend like I actually know what it is

The firefly insect videos you posted could explain the object, yet the problem is the fact that there is more than one flying insect in those videos. A lot more. How can you explain why only one insect appeared in the NBC video during the entire footage? A similar video with a single glowing or light reflecting insect would provide more conclusive evidence.

Until then, at least for me, it's still an unidentified object . By this I mean unidentified, not extraterrestrial.

Do you see how high up the camera is from the ground? The higher you go into the sky, the less bugs there are around lights. The light in the OP's video is far enough away from the camera that a bug flew away from the light into the view of the camera, then flew back towards the light.

And you shouldn't have to need a bug video with a single, solitary bug flying around to "provide more conclusive evidence".

The object is flying exactly like a bug, nobody else reported seeing a UFO that day, nobody else recorded the UFO. There's really nothing else to say here. Facts are facts, and people are ignoring those facts to cling on to some fantasy that it is an alien spacecraft.

How do you explain that there couldn't be any more bugs when the video is only a few seconds long? That video feed is live and there should be lots more video. If there was more than one bug, it would've been recorded. And since it's live, you can watch it any time to see more bugs.
