I did a search and found this thread Obama axed access...... but at this moment Im not interested in political hacking threads.

I was able to send a email to one of my states senators, but following the .gov links for both the senate and house of representatives I keep getting the "server busy" error message...

I don't believe Obama is responsible, I think America is waking up and responding in kind and this response is overloading gov servers.

I also think its really cool to be apart of this.

Here is a news link with all 3 links you need to contact the president and both houses of congress contacting the......

Have you let your voice be heard? Are you and your family finally participating in government?

Even if an overload of traffic is not the true villain behind the server error – I still believe America is waking up to the tyrannical powers that are in office at the moment. America has been taxed to the breaking point, and often times seems more similar to socialism than our true structure.

Our leaders have made decisions and passed laws that do not reflect the best interest of the people – but reflect the interest of a political group, or minority.

All throughout time a government or empire has been most successful when it served the will of the people; and failed when it did not. We are now seeing a tipping point in the history of America when the people will be confronted with the decision to conform or to conflict with the current direction the nation is headed in.

Our freedoms have been stripped, our will has been smothered, and our children have been volunteered to foot the bill of the gluttonies of our leaders spending.

Wake up sleeping giant – wake up. See the thief who comes in the night, who would rob you of your life and liberty - least it be too late.

Thank you so much for this thread, as I was -cynically- thinking, "What good will it do, for me to take the President's suggestion to us last night." I will take advantage of your link then.

Hate to throw a partisan edge to this, but a progressive website has a map, and instructions, and links to each and every congressman to show their "dspleasure".
This way, the dems can say, "Oh wow, golly. The PEOPLE have spoken".
(all the while ignoring us when we talked about healthcare)

Great thread! We need to pay attention to this wonderful awakening. Hopefully, complacency is coming to an end!

Here's an article about how the voters are flooding Congress with calls regarding the debt ceiling:
www.orlandosentinel.com...

From article:

Phone lines were flooded -- and the Capitol switchboard nearly overloaded -- as tens of thousands of voters called and emailed lawmakers in response to Obama's request that the nation urge Washington policymakers to come to a "balanced approach" agreement on the debt ceiling before a looming Aug. 2 deadline.

I emailed my Representative and Senators just like Obama suggested.

However, unfortunately for Obama, I emailed them my opinion, which is very different from Obama's.

Emailed all 3. I'm getting so sick of all this mess! We could still find a way to clean it up if someone would grow a damn set.

I needed a good laugh

I have read your posts and you have admitted why you throw the partisan edge into it, everytime. People, if informed will speak there mind if it serves there best interests.

It's not in the nations or individuals best interest to default.

Why? We could eliminate the Dept. of Education (leave it to the states) and have an extra trillion dollars!

This all boils down to justifying outlandish government spending. It's insane. Keynsian economics is what this is all about. Paying more so government can dump more money into the system. QE1, QE2, QE3 (?), TARP (GWB), all the bailouts!?!?!?!?!?!
*facepalm*

It's not that simple. The housing market would completely crash because of the interest rates. School loans would go through the roof. Credit card interest rates will skyrocket. Basically, the dollar will crash. And before you know it, the USA will be very poor. Where do you think the states will get their money? Exports? lol our main export is consumerism. We buy other countries crap. Maybe some crops.

Which may not be a bad thing really. Considering that we are a mere 5% of the population and use 25% of the world's resources. After the Tea Party ruins the economy, we'll be 5% using 5%. But most will cry "poor me, poor me. I can't buy my pretty shoes anymore!"

In the end, The USA will become the super rich and the poor.

We raised the debt ceiling 17 times under Reagan, and 7 times under Bush.

This is more to do with a Dem President in the office, more than fixing anything.

The Tea Party gave a boost to the Reps in the last mid term election, but with 65% of independence voters supporting the president this means not only will Obama win reelection, but possibly the end to the Republicans, as voter apathy for Dems is no longer a issue

The Tea Party doesn't represent mainstream America, and this is the boost Obama needed to win his reelection bid. Whoever thought the Tea Party would help him achieve this. The Tea Party and the rest of the Republicans have no chance of winning in 2012.
