there is only one race...the human race..all other "races" are just imaginary boundaries set up by bigots to justify their hatred of differences.

My thread and I'll respond to a question about the difference between Conservatism & Socialism if I so please.

You decided to pick up on a point about Europeans as a race, as you had launched an attack on 'European news'. They are a race, dozens of separate ones, so what you said was just pointless and generic.

Basically like the majority of your comments.

This is because you are clearly an idiot.

Sorry Mods: I have just had enough of ATS being populated by such people. It used to be a place where you could intelligently debate with only a few idiots spoiling the party. They now seem to be in the majority.

i'm sorry, i was wrong, it was from sidney. the link i was given. i said it was BS from europe and all of a sudden i was racist, lol.

what? attacking beck for a comment taken out of context is some moral high ground?

and he is what to you people? you sound disappointed he would even think of saying something someone doesn't like.

wow, i take offence on his behalf and as an american. you give him too much face.

what is really behind this thread and the links?

why devote so much to so little?

and it takes one to know one, as they say.

You were called racist after you made the comment.

It may not have been racist but it was dumb.

This is a hate thread directed towards hateful words that 'characters' such as Glenn Beck think it is fine to just come out with. It is not fine.

what was dumb, me or him?

so you readily admit this is just a hate thread!?

isn't there a law against this type of stuff here at ATS?

Actually, look into the 912 camps. That is a tea party sponsored camp.

Tea party camp held in Tampa, Fl

A tea party group called the Tampa 912 Project will host a weeklong seminar in mid-July that promises to teach Florida kids about the principles on which the group says our nation was founded. Those principles include: ”America is good,” “I believe in God, and he is the center of my life,” and “I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.” Conservative writer Jeff Lukens, who organized the camp for kids aged 8-12, told TampaBay.com , “We want to impart to our children what our nation is about, and what they may or may not be told.” Lukens says God will be a big part of the discussion. The camp, which is called Tampa Liberty, will be held at the Paideia Christian school in Temple Terrace, Fla.

Tea party group offers summer camp

"We want to impart to our children what our nation is about, and what they may or may not be told," Lukens said. He said he was not familiar with public school curriculum, but, "I do know they have a lot of political correctness. We are a faithful people, and when you talk about natural law, you have to talk about God. When you take that out of the discussion, you miss the whole thing." Tampa Liberty is modeled after vacation Bible schools, which use fun, hands-on activities to deliver Christian messages. One example at Liberty: Children will win hard, wrapped candies to use as currency for a store, symbolizing the gold standard. On the second day, the "banker" will issue paper money instead. Over time, students will realize their paper money buys less and less, while the candies retain their value. "Some of the kids will fall for it," Lukens said. "Others kids will wise up." Another example: Starting in an austere room where they are made to sit quietly, symbolizing Europe, the children will pass through an obstacle course to arrive at a brightly decorated party room (the New World). Red-white-and-blue confetti will be thrown. But afterward the kids will have to clean up the confetti, learning that with freedom comes responsibility. Still another example: Children will blow bubbles from a single container of soapy solution, and then pop each other's bubbles with squirt guns in an arrangement that mimics socialism. They are to count how many bubbles they pop. Then they will work with individual bottles of solution and pop their own bubbles. "What they will find out is that you can do a lot more with individual freedom," Lukens said.

So for the right to criticize the left for holding summer camps is the height of hypocrisy.

On a lighter note, Cartman did a really good impersonation of what Beck and Limbaugh do in the South Park episode, "Dancing with Smurfs".

Sad and tragic yes.
Fact is still that the camp was a Political Youth Camp for the Worker Party I believe.

What is the problem here?

Well, you're dissing all of Europe...yes, it's not a country or race, so you might call it bigotry if you feel better about that. And as for Hitler youth camps...none...unless you live in Beck's fantasy world

Reminder: Mr. Beck is an entertainer who 'tells' people stuff.

The media and political theater is NOT supposed to 'lead' the formation of public sentiment.... it's supposed to reflect it.

Hence, anything pumped into the dialogue by talking heads and political opportunists must be taken for what it is..., namely, vainglorious gyrations to increase or improve ratings and notoriety.

The fact that this was a politically-oriented gathering can be compared as much to the congresses of the founding fathers as it can to Hitler's ideology spewing organizations.

Beck is a victim of his own posturing. One that some media companies are only too happy to put on display.

Glenn Beck is an opinion show and has never pretended to be 'news' - so your post is meaningless and deliberately misleading.

............on the other hand, the journalistic standards of CNN, MSNBC etc have deteriated to the point of non-existence - they are nothing morethan mouthpieces for the Obama administration and lead their audiences all the time - whilst trying to pretend that they are neutral reporters of the truth!

No surprise then, that Beck's ratings have soared in contrast to the nose-dive of Obama lackey stations!

Not true. It was an "opinion" show on a News network, and it carried some perceived air of authority. All of the news shows carry that same logical fallacy "appeal to authority." If he has a show, and he is on the news network, he must be an expert right? We must believe him!

60 minutes has been caught lying, fabricating, and exaggerating, and they are on the evening primetime with the other sitcoms, but their production techniques that mimic a documentary style give them instant credibility for their fiction.

If only there were more people like you that recognize Glenn Beck, and all the other opinion pieces for what they really are, OPINIONS! Instead, most people treat them like fact.

I'm trying to ascertain in what way my post was misleading, deliberately or otherwise. Could you tell me how I went down that path?

All media is immune from any accusations of 'misleading' according to the justice system, as they are all - in every manner - dedicated to the production of entertainment. So frankly, the only reason we consider anything 'news' is because that is how it's presented. Beck was no different than any other talking head in that regard.

Or are you contending that simply by saying 'opinion' you can get away with engendering fear, anger, and sensational outrage? That seems to be the press' standing excuse.for putting a charismatic speaker before us and playing motivational music and pomp and glitz to couch whatever they want to say... or whatever is written for them.

I don't mislead. So your comment seems a touch on the reactionary side to me, perhaps even meant to offend. Was it?

Yeah! and that is why Fox let him go, because his ratings were just too damned good.

Also why he is pulling stunts like this Norway victims again (remember his comments about the 9/11 victims) to get the attention he needs so he can coax more gullible radio listeners to his new gbtv website to sign up and pay for a subscription to be 'entertained' with his unique content, and to buy gold, survival meals and other stuff he promotes on his shows.

He does know how to get attention, and it has worked very well for him.

Until he went overboard and his statements got so weird, most of his advertisers jumped ship and dropped him

I mean, he lost his show on Fox...he's TOO CRAZY for even Fox. The channel who employs a guy who argues god exists because "scientists can't explain the tides"!!

Oh dear pass the sick bag. Yes we have our humanity as the common denominator and of course all humans have equal worth. But don't pretend there aren't differences, genetic even, between races. Which is why the Olympic Games will never be a playing field. Unfortunately in our politically correct world acknowledging this simple FACT is often viewed as heresy/racism

OK, lets be clear on this. This "camp" that you're going on about isn't like your summer camps you send your children you.

This was a gathering for young members of the political party so yes they were young, but by no means children, and all activist members of the the party.

It wasn't a scout jamboree. it doesn;t make what happened right, but I hope this takes some of the "creepy" factor out of it for you.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with Becks ratings - he remained as popular as ever and put the rest of MSM to shame.

He felt he had gone as far as he could on a 5pm slot on Fox news - he had allready bent the format completely out of shape!, was preaching to the choir and needed to seek new audiences.

After exposing Sorros as the spider at the centre of the web - and being the No one enemy of Obama - Murdoch was begining to attract too much heat, including a campaign to threaten and intimidate advertisers.

You only have to look what has happened to Murdoch lately to see just how displeased the NWO is with him for letting Beck run rampant on MSM, exposing their machinations.

No, he had gone as far as the network could let him go, his ratings leveled off after a moderate decline following the mid-term elections, advertisers were NOT buying time on Beck's show despite the ratings, for obvious reasons, whatever Beck did, they would somehow been seen as endorsing it, or sponsoring him, supporting his show, or in some way associated with him. Fox couldn't give away air time to top advertisers during Beck's show. That is why he was let go, or whatever he was made to believe.

His bag of tricks hasn't changed, he has more air time on ALL the networks today!

The Murdoch phone hacking cases had nothing to do with Glenn Beck or George Sorros. It was about the unethical practices of the British tabloid press. The NofW had been hacking phones long before Beck came onto the scene and started talking about Sorros. It would have all been swept under the carpet had it not been for Milly Dowler.
