Glenn Beck knows there is no such thing as bad publicity, and he is a genius at exploiting the media like this.

It was calculated, it was intentional, and very successful.

By the way, isn't Beck's 9/12 thing something like a political camp?

Would that make his kids "Hitler youth" as well?

No! According to Beck's "logic", you are only the same as Hitler/Stalin if you disagree with his viewpoint. And it doesn't matter if anything you're doing is actually comparable to those dictators, the mere fact that you don't agree with Beck is enough for him to classify you as "the same as Hitler/Stalin".

You'd be amazed at what you can do if you throw logic and rationality out of the window. I mean, think about it, he can say whatever he wants, no matter how stupid or incorrect, a dumb minority will still buy into it make sure Beck gets paid

By the way, did you know that if you give a beggar 10c, you're automatically a communist? And mother Theresa was clearly the biggest commie ever

That man lives in a fantasy world that's beyond laughable. I mean, in his world, every single non-Christian is part of some anti-Christian socialist-communist conspiracy theory funded by Nazi-Soros and the obviously racist Obama and supported by people who like Hitler. Also, all Muslims are terrorists...well, 10% of them are, which is about more people than in all of Russia (but don't worry, it doesn't have to make sense). Also, in his world, buying gold at a price that requires a 65% value increase so that investors break even is a "great investment".

In short, I'm not surprised he came out with another lunatic statement...not sure what took him so long, he's normally quicker at spazzing out

Not really. I would expect it.

In this instance I suppose I am biased as I find the Socialist ideals of looking after each other and spreading the wealth much more palatable than the Tea Parties brand of the most selfish, god fearing bulls*it, f'ree market', cack you could ever hear.

Although i personally destest the 'normal' Republicans & Democrats much more.

Remember I am a European. We are all dirty Socialists over here.

I have little doubt that this was a progressive 'youth camp' aimed at indoctrinating and networking the next generation of multiculturalist traitors - which is clearly why Anders targetted it, reprehensible though it may be.

You might like to compare this with the activities of say the 'Weathermen' of Bill Ayers fame: you know the person who launched Obamas political carreer and who wrote 'Dreams from my father'

In an interview from the 1982 documentary No Place To Hide that recently surfaced, Grathwohl discussed what the Weathermen intended to do after overthrowing the U.S. government, including what they would do with those Americans who refused to embrace communism.

I asked, “Well what is going to happen to those people we can’t reeducate, that are diehard capitalists?” And the reply was that they’d have to be eliminated.

And when I pursued this further, they estimated they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these reeducation centers. And when I say “eliminate,” I mean “kill.” Twenty-five million people. I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of which have graduate degrees, from Columbia and other well-known educational centers, and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people. And they were dead serious.

or how they discussed whether Killing White Babies was a Duty of All Marxist Revolutionaries.

You might like to consider how they are now being glorified by Hollywood as 'true American heroes'

Robert Redford and Shia LeBeouf will be starring in a film that glorifies members of the Weather Underground, portraying those terrorists as true American heroes.

According to Voltage film producer Nicolas Chartier, who worked with Redford’s Wildwood Enterprises production company on the project, “This is an edge-of-your-seat thriller about real Americans who stood for their beliefs, thinking they were patriots and defending their country’s ideals against their government.”

In reality it is a group of educated young people hanging out, having fun, bound together by common ideals.

Truly terrifying.

I find the idea of a "political camp" for kids creepy (not terrifying), and the brand of politics involved doesn't matter.

You wouldn't find a "Young Tea Party of America Camp" creepy?

I'm a conservative and I would find it creepy.

This is basically for youth that is already politically involved and have gotten a membership in the youth party version of labour party.
The right wing parties have the exact same thing and it is completely voluntarily to be a member. If you dont agree with their politics, then you don't get a membership.
If this was something that people were forced to join or attend then I would agree with you.

Such youth parties are actually a nice way for youth/young adults to also have some influence and some of these people end up being in one of the main parties later on.

This is how it is at least in Scandinavia and probably some other European countries as well.

Looking after each other is just as much a conservative ideal as it is a socialist ideal, we just disagree about how best to accomplish it.

It's the same in Switzerland. We even have political parties comprised entirely of young people...on the right and left. It's called voicing your opinion, and is a cornerstone of a real democracy...not that the US has known a real democracy in a while. In the US, you are either branded a lefty communist, or a right-wing bigot...no shades of gray. That's the entire problem of a 2 party system, it forces people into extreme corners. We have a ton of different parties in Switzerland that form the government, so they HAVE to compromise on a daily basis. In the US, they can't even compromise on something they've done 120 times in the past...raising the debt ceiling

So in short, he's thinking about the entire shooting as if Bin Laden was hunting Nazis. Yeah, makes perfect sense...if you are completely uneducated and clueless

Oh, and if the news is from Europe it's automatically crap in your book...yeah, showing your true racist colors here aren't we?

Do nothing about the Great Crash in 1929 and actually help it spin out of control by not intervening (Hoover).

Break the power of the trade unions so the workers cannot collectively bargain (Reagan).

Destroy the Glass-Steagiall act, thus allowing Investment/Commerical banking to merge. (Clinton)

Run up a massive deficit under Bush and then cry about it when that section of Conservatives no know longer hold the reigns of power.

Now Obama wants to gut fiscally sound programmes such as Medicare.

Bloody Conservatives.

Yes that would be the same Marxist revolutionaries who discussed which parts,of the USA the NK's, Vietkong and Russians might like to occupy after they had overthrown the Gov.

You know the same 60's radicals who engineered Obama's rise to power and swapped the satisfaction of the 'radical pose' in favour of ifiltrating the system by learning how to 'talk like the enemy' - and are now in power!

My thread and I'll respond to a question about the difference between Conservatism & Socialism if I so please.

You decided to pick up on a point about Europeans as a race, as you had launched an attack on 'European news'. They are a race, dozens of separate ones, so what you said was just pointless and generic.

Basically like the majority of your comments.

This is because you are clearly an idiot.

Sorry Mods: I have just had enough of ATS being populated by such people. It used to be a place where you could intelligently debate with only a few idiots spoiling the party. They now seem to be in the majority.

Beck, a multimillionaire darling of the Tea Party movement

Beck is certainly NOT a darling of the Tea Party! Most Tea Party folks that I know despise him! He is a darling of the couch potato party that vicariously lives through the actions of the real Tea Party, but he is light-years from knowing anything about the true spirit of the Tea Party!

When I hear Palin and Beck and Bachmann mentioned in the same sentence with the Tea Party it makes me physically ill. These are opportunists, not public servants. Anybody that wants to be considered a "leader" should not be a "darling" of anything! They should be standing on their laurels and broadcasting their moral integrity through their good works and actions, not through controversial talking points and rabble-rousing.

God, this literally makes me sick. I am not exaggerating, I have knots in my stomach from seeing the Tea Party railroaded this way.
