Thats enough room for 19,512,690 more people right there alone.

Haha you crack me up. Where are you going to get all the resources to support all those citys? Where are you going to get all the water? Electricity?

Build more power plants! Build more pipes and get the water from the ocean!

WHERE ARE WE GOING TO COME UP WITH THE MONEY FOR ALL THAT?

Hey maybe you're super rich and would like to help out.

Electricity - do some reading on Tesla... Water - Dig some holes or interview a deep well digger who actually drills in that desert. I have!

Population Control, the phrase itself brings up pretty sinister pictures in your heads doesn't it? It would seem that any time this subject is brought up, its viewed with Negative thoughts and ignoring of basic problems. What I would like to do is throw some thoughts out there and see what you all have to say. See if we can get some real debate going to see were that might lead us.

Lets take a look at population control and why its needed.

1.) our current population is around nine billion and continues at an exponential rate. In the next 25-30 years that number will double. We are well over the Earths carrying capacity of 2 billion for the way we live. If we still lived as hunter gathers we could further populate the planet to 40-100 billion but we are too late for that.

science.howstuffworks.com...

2.) Our current resources are getting depleted faster than we can find renewable or reuse-able replacements as well as our dependance on fossil fuels. While we still have vast land that is pretty much uninhabited. That doesn't mean we have the resources to support people should they move there.

3.) Food, Food is what makes the world go round. As we continue to grow food is becoming harder and harder to produce. The average American Farmer produces enough food for about 55 people by most estimates. While company's are working harder than ever to produce genetically altered food. Its not being done fast enough and we are already seeing millions starving world wide.

4.) loss of bio-diversity, and loss of life, and pollution these things are farther factors hindering the human race.
As we try and progress we are finding that many plants are going extinct to the point we are making seed banks to help if we ever need to bring them back in the future.

Loss of life not just in humans but as humans we are driving hundreds of animals to the brink of extinction and beyond. What can we do here? how do we know that we wont have a need for these animals in the future? or at least have them to tell our children that they were not myths?

Pollution that is another of the worlds biggest problems, no I'm not talking about global warming. I'm talking about crapping in our own back yards. Its not we who are going to pay for it its our children, They are the ones who are going to get sick, and possibly die.

Major Corporations spill millions and millions of pollution into our air, water and land each year. At what point do we say enough is enough?

So should we look to sustainability in the future?

What would it take to bring us down to a manageable size?

Because if we don't come up with some thing soon, some one may do it for us and we might not like their plan.

All those for pop control stand up and off your selves. Oh that's right you only want to control someone elses population just like the Nazi's.

And to add money is not OVER POPULATION!, its an idea that we hold value to. Yet everything we need to LIVE and MAKE is here for us to do so. unless all the metals and surplus we use are not from Earth... This Topic is about Over Population, not about the uses of money... if anything the money is used on brainwashing people into thinking people can not come together to think of proactive ways to deal with growing numbers of people. Money, well if its about Money take the military industrial complex budget and spend it for a few days... THERES YOUR MONEY!!!

What is wrong with the depopulation of the planet? You do not need to kill billions of peoples to do this. All you have to do is make a law that says you can have only ONE child per family. This will make the population DECREASE by 50% every generation. Then when the population is low enough, take the law off and have as many bunny's as possible.
IN the mean time, everyone plant as many trees as possible. Show you care, PLANT A TREE.

you seem to be aware of what "lower class people" are.

infact you even display knowledge of whats on mtv these days.

so what is exactly that wich separates you from them?

you had to watch to figure out that those people are of a lower class.
as you claim, yet you watch..

me, i think anyone who actually considers and has a list of people that deserve to be wiped off.
those people better rank #1 on said list.

Hey that sounds great! But problem is I don't think the government or state would spend less on their military and war any time soon right? Or outrageously state government job salaries for executive top level officials where people get paid for downloading and collecting porn at their office.

Telsa? Yes free energy exists. Free energy techology existed LONGGGG time ago on earth even during the time when the ancient pyramids were built. (All those obelisks were basically a kind of energy power towers) But guess what. Everyone still has to pay for electricity today. Why? Because the government doesn't want everyone to have wonderful environmentally friendly FREE energy. They want CONTROL over the people.

I say to really solve the life situation on Earth and its future is to get rid of the government.

Sadly, the humans we're reproducing are no longer genetically better than the generations before them to any significant extent. We're producing "baby-makers" at an alarming rate but they're not improving the race in any calculable way. Humans are not being improved.

We support the right of every single human to reproduce, no matter what condition/s they may suffer from, and so our genome never eliminates any of the bad or unwanted traits that natural selection would normally eliminate on it's own, whatever they might be, from disease to physical malformations that are passed from parent to child. And there are also the multi-breeders who indiscriminately get pregnant/impregnate women because they just don't care about the consequences.

In my opinion it's the multi-breeders and their sexual partners that need to be reigned-in and somehow punished or controlled for their reckless pregnancies because, not only are they putting a huge strain on public resources, but in many cases they are simply not able to care for multiple children (5,6,7 or more) which breeds children who will also become multi-breeders because of the environment in which they were raised.

Certainly I am not suggesting a mass sterilization, but there needs to be some way to make it less profitable to have 4 children or more just because you don't like to use condoms. This subject crosses many racial and religious lines and will never be a simple one to address or to solve. But something needs to be done and very soon. I just wish I knew what that something was.

Yes it is about time for a candid conversation about population control.

Really, I am very aware of the folks who are ardently against these measures.

Unless we place our populations in concentrated cities, we are doomed.

The run-off from our pollution and our killing and encroaching upon the animal kingdom is abysmal.

I do not want to live in a world where we only have humans, cows and sheep. I want a diverse world of the many beautiful other beings (animals) that make the world more tolerable.

We as humans are ignorant and arrogant. Who really thinks that we are a sustainable world with 10 billion people in it?

It's crazy. Time for change. Male and female contraception has a long way to go.

Truly, mother nature needs to act out to wipe out at least 3/4 of us. I will step in line to save the world.

Humans are pathetic, apathetic, arrogant and beyond reproach. I'm just waiting for the next asteroid hit. God bless.

Yes I acknowledge all of this, but the topic is over population, as far as earth is concerned there is enough space, there are enough resources and when it comes down to it... Survival and the right to live are more important than our mental diferences. Simply over population is not money it is not the space available, it is not anything but the limits we mentally produce and the way we live.

Its only when you let the web of world propaganda block your dreams, that your dreams become a blur. I want to live, dream, be in love and have a family, there is nothing more I could ask for.

The particular individuals and specific events taking place daily are a large part irrelevant, when looked at in the scope of a situation on such a magnitude as the one in which we find ourselves.

Many people will look at said particular individuals and specific events, not understanding, or having been distracted from, the big picture, and become confused, fearful, or totally repelled.

Make a mental note of whatever offends you, and ask yourself who programmed you to respond that way – because it is in no way natural to become manic and emotional when presented with largely abstract concepts. Many people become very angry about certain issues, and take on an almost militant attitude about issues that have nothing at all to do with their own lives. This type of behavior, once limited to heavily dogmatized religious adherents and communists, has made it’s way into the mainstream of culture, and if one is able to recognize and acknowledge it in oneself, this leads to a dynamic paradigm shift. Again, all revolution must come to you by way of fearless and brutally honest self analysis. Learning to accept and admit fault is key; one also must never set boundaries on one’s own perception
No single article, link, blog, book, or library, can provide a truly comprehensive understanding of what is going on here on Satellite Earth, because understanding is not something that can’t be given, received or memorized, but must be autonomously produced within your own consciousness.

Well dude when you do the math and you can fit 3+ billion people comfortably just in the Mojave deserts square milage. I would be one of those people who think that. The resources we have are only mentally limited. Indeed "We as humans are ignorant and arrogant" yup i would agree...

Also.. if growing your own d*mn food in your own d*mn yard was legal... people would be doing better also. your quote was a huge understatement of what we as people are capable of inventing / creating. I think i remember correctly... umm... i think we invented this thing where we could grow food inside... whats it called... of yeah hydroponics! sprouts are good also and a little less technical. Are you telling me with all the knowledge we have, that we could not figure things out. sh*t they already have been figured out. Clean Free energy exist, Tesla!!!

You have GOT to be joking? Please tell me your made several typos. There are almost 7 billion people on this planet. How the hell would 7 billion people fit on a 1000 sq ft piece of land EACH! if Texas is only 262, 000 sq miles. That means only 262 people would fit into Texas if they each had 1000 sq ft of land. Even if you give everyone 1 acre they wouldn't fit.

You probably should have thought a bit more logically before you posted that.

I surmise you've never heard of hydroponics, nano-tech, quantum computing, and many other great inventions and discoveries that will propel our race into further growth and sustainability.

EXACTLY!!!!

Now think about that strait line going out in every direction... Last time I looked at a map there was a lot of open land just about everywhere. Then you must calculate that we dont all just live on the ground, we live in layers. In a time of skyscrapers our building advancements I think were safe to go a long long long time. The Mojave Desert is 25,000 sq miles do the math, Im sure they have that class in college.

my bad, only 370 million people would fit... I used 15 into the 25,000 Sm of the Mojave... that should have been 131, Thanks for pointing that out.

You called it yourself. Are we allowed to grow our own food anymore? Last I heard it was a crime to feed yourself off your own land. God be it that we that we give freely our own fruits of our labor to our neighbors and friends. Yes....we will be prosecuted if they become sick from our own organic grow-ings!
