Yeah, life is like a rainbow
All the different colors
Each looking different from the other
Sometimes it feels like the day is never-ending
Like a mirage, have we been pretending?
We're all parts of a rainbow
All are connected but set free
Given the opportunity to be
Who we want to be
When the day is long
Just go with the flow
Float on the dreams of
What's at the end of the rainbow

Oooh, Egyptian's protesting in the streets
Deadbeat fathers whose kids get beat
The Muslims and Arabs stone and kill their own
While pregnant teens gettin' disowned
What is this world coming to man
Somebody has gotta get up and take a stand
Sick of kids gettin' raped or shot
I won't have it (no)
It's tragic that own brothers
Resort to the clappin of a gun
What happened to the days of
Livin' and havin' fun
Where you could go out
Without watching your back
Because clowns wanna get ya with
A sneak attack

(chorus)
If you wanna break free
From reality
Go for a ride and
Take the chance of a lifetime
Go in the direction that you want to go
Come with me and follow
The rainbow

The rainbow is what is; and once was
It's a reflection of what you've become
You can take the journey for the pot of gold
Rise up and break from the mold
If you wanna be the change
Then let's make things right
Just have a block party
Without startin' a fight
We're all part of this rainbow
Each color is a journey
A new destiny awaits
Which road are you gonna take?

(chorus)
If you wanna break free
From reality
Go for a ride and
Take the chance of a lifetime
Go in the direction that you want to go
Come with me and follow
The rainbow

I lay with my heart on a sleeve
As I count the flower petals in my dreams
Does she love me or love me not
(It's got me playing possum)
When I try playing hard to get
She mingles her way into my head
With a lingering scent I can't forget
Still with her playful eyes
She might be a devil in disguise
(I'm still playing possum)
She speaks covert phrases
Sending me through amorous mazes
Finding my way through loves phases
(I'll keep playing possum)

(chorus)
You can call me crazy
Cause I can't love you baby
You could be the one
I'm still playing possum
I'm still playing possum

My mind tells me it could be you
My heart says to think it through
Cupid's truth hidden in plain view
Maybe I'm just too blind
To see love in my life
Maybe it's just too hard to find
Piecing together the puzzle of us
Are you in love or is it lust

(chorus)
You can call me crazy
Cause I can't love you baby
You could be the one
I'm still playing possum
I'm still playing possum

The first one is my favorite.
Both are equally beautiful and inspiring!
Thanks for sharing!

Have you made the music yet? Id really like to listen how you interrpret your lyrics.

Then there was this one, called Devil in Disguise (Two-Faced)

Trippin on this girl like my tongue was tied;
Shoelaces formed the butterflies,
With those eyes, girl had me hypnotized;
A lone glance left me mesmerized
Little did I realize
Her heart was cold as ice

Girl, you're a two-face
A cupid disgrace
But when I'm here in my room
Cranking up the tunes
All I do is see your face
Don't know what to choose
Heads you win
Tails I lose

(chorus)
Yeah, you're a two-faced heart
Why'd you rip mine apart
Played me with those angelic eyes
You were a devil in disguise

Something about her lured me in
The sweetest sin with a corruptive grin
Sends you a text and lingers
Like she's got ya, wrapped around her fingers
Bats her eyelashes outta the park
Tempting her way into your heart
Dark intentions to rip it apart

(chorus)
Yeah, you're a two-faced heart
Why'd you rip mine apart
Played me with those angelic eyes
You were a devil in disguise

A poem of mine, and possibly my favorite of all time. Tree of Life.

Each of us is connected
By branches unseen
Joined in the collective
As a single heartbeat
Umbilical cord hidden
Between the voids
Soft spoken whispers
Echo through white noise

In the Springtime a tree awakens
Ready to begin anew
The swelling of buds
With lone aspirations to pursue
Each leaf is given respiration
To carry on a journey
Til its final destination

Summer provides the energy
Sunlight to endure
Excercise from water
To keep the body pure
Awaiting nourishment from
The photosynthetic light
Sugary flavor providing
Endless delight

Fall changes begin to show
Leaves begin to fall away
False perceptions of reality
Begin to lead astray
Hidden behind red beauty
Reflections made
Of memories more suiting

Winter brings blankets
Of soft and gentle snow
Each flake brings leaves close
As perennials of Spring
Linger in the distance
Realization that life
Could end in an instant
