Not a bad point seiva7. I was on the fence with that issue for a while, and now I lean more towards it did actually happen. But the conspiracy side of me still questions it, especially since the motivation was competitive. I did a thread a while back* that confirmed (by the CIA) that the CIA created, or at least encouraged and promoted, the whole abstract art movement as an effort to show up the Russians. So along those lines I can see how the moonlanding could have been just a show.
Sworn secrecy and national defense are pretty heavy tactics to maintain silence too, so I don't know for sure..anymore about anything really, when it comes to an 'official" story.
