While 1.68 microSv/hr is not a good thing it is no where near "high or dangerous" levels of radiation.

Also the guy that made the videos never stated what the normal background levels were for that area, or how old his detector is or the last time it was calibrated.

Here is a Thread of mine where I was monitoring the radiation in my area.

I would not worry too much about the levels he is recording until it gets to mili-Sieverts then you can start to worry about cumulative dose.

Don't be stupid, I never said it was good for you.

but those are extremely low doses, you will get higher standing next to a power lines

What about the ht particles within that rain?
Thetre is some concern that injestion of only a few can cause cancer.....
I think low readings are not nessessarily a good sign if you count the duration of the disaster and the amount of material still cooking off over there....
This is a cumulatve process too

"extremely low doses"

So that instrument is set to measure low radiation when is readings shows ..

1. Normal Radiation Background ..

This is what on instrument show , you or all can say is normal when radiation go like this maybe instrument is stupid ..

2. High Radiation Background ..

3. Dangerous Radiation Background ..

So is only 3 level what instrument measure end dangerous radiation background show same level like big level of radiation ..

Lake Louise, Alberta.

Quite high up in the Rockies.

www.trailcanada.com...

The elevation of Lake Louise is 1,536 m (5,039 feet), the highest permanent settlement in Canada.

It's everywhere by the sound of things. And probably still steadily spewing from Japan. Also probably not much we can do about it, it's in our air, water, food.

I will say this again……….

Who makes the Geiger counter?
Is it sensitive to beta particles?
Is it sensitive to alpha particles?
Does it have the beta/alpha window open? (if it even has a beta shield)

If the beta/alpha window is open, then you are detecting radon decay products. Those decay products come from the natural radon which is coming out of the ground all around you. It decays to daughter products which are washed out of the air by the rain.

1msv, or even 10msv will be perfectly normal readings from radon decay products during a rain.
