What are you currently reading?

Wow, so many of you read so fast! I really only read on break at work lately though so I'm probably just slow.

Just started Fahrenheit 451.

Any recommendations for other good dystopian novels? Been in that mood lately.

A buddy from work is supposed to bring me in The Walking Dead graphic novels though so I'll probably get into those first.

I'm reading The Break by Katherena Vermette.

I'm reading Beyond The Ice Limit by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child.

No Walking Dead yet so I'm about halfway through Lord of the Flies. I didn't realize this took place during or after a nuclear war, that's crazy.

The lathe of Heaven-Ursula LeGuin
Stand on Zanzibar-John Brunner

Thank you very much. I just recently read the first 3 books on your list and somehow completely forgot about Philip K Dick. I love all the movies based on his books.

The children of men, is that what the movie was based off of? The rest I've never heard of and will add them to the list.

I've just started reading The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury.

I am reading the second book in the Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown, Golden Son.

It is perhaps even better than the first, (which I enjoyed greatly).

I started "Department of temporal investigations: Book 1 Watching the clock" By Christopher L. Bennett

I am reading By Gaslight by Steven Price.

Right now I'm reading The Widows of Eastwick by John Updike. It's the sequel to Witches of Eastwick. The women are in their 60s now and all of their children grown.

I am reading Firestarter by Stephen King.

I'm reading "All Quiet on the Western Front" by Erich Maria Remarque. I'm fond of it

Found this in the bookstore yesterday and I must say I'm intrigued.

The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine by Michael Lewis

Caught the movie on cable the other day and was surprised by the amount of behind the scenes shenanigans. Ought to be interesting.

Currently on book 2 of Stephen Kings's the Dark Tower Series, The Drawing of the Three; it is totally bizarre.

The Dark Tower series has something crazy like 8000 pages in total. Having a hip replacement in a week and needed a nice long series to occupy the time after.

Working on the Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon. Very cool story set in the 40's about a group of comic book writers who create their own superheros.

I am reading Misery by Stephen King.

I've read the Dark Tower twice through but only once for the "Wind through the Keyhole" book. If you think the Drawing of the Three is weird, it gets even weirder around book 5-6 when King is a character in his own books lol. Great series though and I don't think you'll be too disappointed, unless you read to the actual ending. Then you might wanna smash something lol.

Just recently finished "The Running Man", which I didn't even know was written by King under the pseudonym Bachman. Totally different than the movie but really good nonetheless. Recently started rereading "The Song of Ice and Fire" (Game of Thrones) books, hopefully the 6th will be out by the time I finish, maybe? lol
