Elenin is small and has no appreciable mass. If it had much of a mass then it would have perturbed the motions of asteroids as it passed through the asteroid belt. That did not happen. It is small and not a large mass.

It has not been associated with earthquakes. Those claims are easily shown to be false.

thank you for letting me know that the 1982 story isn't real...like I said, I didn't know anything about it. I can be just as condescending as the next guy.

Search around the Lucus thread in the 2012 forum and you should be able to get all sorts of information on that article, the IRAS data, its analysis, and the names and types of the objects.
