My take---Elenin is real, but not as promoted. Small very dense. In a pure sense not a complete magnetar, but composed of some of the same materials. It can cause earthquakes and gravitational effects. /quote]
Elenin is small and has no appreciable mass. If it had much of a mass then it would have perturbed the motions of asteroids as it passed through the asteroid belt. That did not happen. It is small and not a large mass.
It has not been associated with earthquakes. Those claims are easily shown to be false.
