Sorry, wrong, there are two parties fighting so to blame only republicans is somewhat stupid.
America needs people that can cope with the situation which it is in now, clearly the people in charge now are not capable to do so.
I wonder why americans themselfs aren't angry about what is happening?
Knowing that some high ranked republicans are short on America doesn't give a signal that they want to avoid a default. In fact they would make money if America defaults on its debt.

I find it highly amusing that your are slating older, wiser countries and yet you call yourself Centurion, and have a centurion avatar.

This is why I cannot take your seriously. Just saying.

You will find that none of the bi-partisan name calling is of my doing if you re-read this thread.

I only interviened to point out the obvious. America (like it or not) DOES greatly influence most other countries economies through the the use and control of organisations like the IMF and the World Bank. That is fact, and cannot be argued.

We are one world. I don't see why extra-national opinion should be a one way road. The american economy is the backbone of the world economy. Every single country in the world paradoxaly depends on, and is influenced by, america's national economic decisions.

With this in mind, all I was trying to point out was the fact that we non-americans should have the right to voice our opinion on americas economic decisions/non-decisions, because we will be subjected to the effects of these decisions as much as any american.

A poster argued that America does not meddle in other countries affairs, and that therefore, the rest of the world had no right to meddle with American affairs. I merely pointed out that his argument was a fallacy.

Please explain where the "America Hating" part is in my posts.

Predictable. Why? Because the rest of the world is so mired in debt and has destroyed so much of the economic promise within their own societies that they don't want to see the US respond to our current situation in a manner that would improve our fiscal stature. Merkel and Sarkozy were adamant and rebuked Obama in his calls for more global stimulus. They don't want to play the spend and debt game any longer, now they are fearful that we won't play that game?

Why are they afraid? Because were the US to cut corporate taxes, eliminate capital gains and come up with sensical budget reforms it would unleash an economic firestorm that would quickly eclipse the rest of the world, thats why.

The entire underpinning of the globalist agenda is that no one country is far superior to any others. China could care less about that notion which is why folks are fearful of the Chinese.

Sure the Republicans are scary to the global elite. They are because they are fearful, not of what happens should the US not correct its debt problem, but what happens to the global balance if we do actually get our economic house in order.

OP, I can and do support your right to speak out those things that concern you, and it is great that we Americans can still do that without getting a firing squad, although I am beginning to wonder how long that will last..

I have to say though, that I'm a little bit disappointed that you would still be buying in to the brainwashing that both the dems and republicans have been doing to the public for so long, and can't or won't see that they are both using you to fuel this false war between them..

It is false, because they are both collaborating with each other to do these things behind our backs at every turn and are doing it to empower themselves while taking away all of our power as Americans to get them straightened out and operating with the integrity and honesty they should have...

For just one example of proof of this, just research a bit on all of these folks in congress and the senate and even appointed people and look at the small fortunes 75% of them have made by abusing their positions, and how their net worth was infinitely smaller before getting in office...

Both major parties have created a huge rolling snowball made from their tainted KOOLAID, and it keeps getting bigger and bigger, while our voice, freedoms, and willpower to keep them honest, keep getting smaller and smaller...

These people today, representing us, whether republican or democrat are both equally destructive to me and you, and all our families, and future families, not because of what they all say, but by what they are all doing, and the results of what they are doing to America....

The bottom line is that America is being delivered right into the jaws of hell, and all the people that are acting like there really is a right or a left to fight for, are effing making it happen!!

(just my little counterpoint for the day)

Hope everyone has a good weekend

this is my sentiments exactly. the Republicans want a Fascist Super state based slavery and fear exploitation through Corporate totalitarianism of slaves and masters
The Dems want a Fascist Nanny Super state were you are enslaved and exploitated and imprisoned managed and educated in the Socialist group think for your own good,

but they are really just two sides of the same coin I don't trust either side. It should be clear by now to anyone that whatever we think about the contents of the Constitution or Bill of Rights is nowhere on the radar of anyone in Washington Politics

don't vote it's scam!!!

Great post

But do banks lend out money? because that is the lifeblood of the economy, if projects fail or are not started because there is no money then no jobs will be created and lower taxes won't help either.
cut spending indeed, thats a good start, on zerohedge there is a little post about treasurys stopping to manipulate the markets, now i do not know how much money is used to manipulate them but i can imagin that it would help people with jobs, infrasructure.

Obama: Public is 'sold' on tax increases in a debt-ceiling deal
By Sam Youngman and Alicia M. Cohn - 07/15/11 11:54 AM ET

President Obama on Friday kept up the pressure on Republicans to agree to revenue increases in a deal to raise the debt ceiling, claiming 80 percent of the public supports Democrats' demand for tax increases.

"The American people are sold," Obama said. "The problem is members of Congress are dug in ideologically."

Throughout the press conference, Obama blasted Republicans for ignoring what he said is the will of the American people by rejecting tax increases that would balance out spending cuts in a debt package.

"This is not an issue of salesmanship to the American people," Obama said.

Race card??? Really!?!? I'd have hoped for an intellectual response; you know... one with logical arguments. We can talk about George Bush's budgets all we want, but he's no longer in office and we cannot rewind and redo. Let's instead focus on the fact that Obama has contributed more to the deficit than ALL other President, COMBINED!!! And while BOTH sides of the political equation pander to their bases in sad attmepts to buy votes, we are losing our country. The only thing left to wait and see is if the corporations win or the low-life leaches of society get more entitlements for doing absolutely nothing except for voting themselves more money.

Who the hell cares what the Germans think?

Im Canadian and I'm on the Republicans side. All they are asking is for Obama to agree to some fiscal responsibility, and the republicans will get on board with a temporary raise in the debt celing.

How is asking the government to spend responsibly and pass balanced budget legislation a bad thing?

Obamas arrogance is showing. He MUST know the republicans are right on this.

What makes you think the Republicans oppose the global elite in deed?

The global elite dominate through business endeavors just as much as anything...
The thing is, the GOP does not see it fit to interere with business... Look at the NAFTA
authorization vote, it shows the truth about Republicans.
