i wonder if there are any other alternative energy sources for aircraft??

when oil becomes rarer it will become too expensive to fly the planes, we need another energy supply and nuclear is an opinion, an unsafe and potentaily dangerous opinion non the less

Hydrogen is not powerful enough it can barley push a 1.5 ton car at 70mph you think is going to make a 40 ton jet go mach 2-2.5 forget about it. Its not strong enough.

Plutonium batteries are very safe , they have been used in cardiostimulators in the past.

These plutonium batteries might have civilian applications if they are indeed much safer then a nuclear reactor if they could survive a plane crash Imagine a car that runs on this stuff going to the refill station once every 50 years sweet. If it could survive a plane crash it could withstand the worst car crash.

A number of electric-powered aircraft have either entered production or are under development and/or testing. The Militky MB-E1 became the first electric-powered aircraft to fly, taking to the skies in October 1973. The X-57 Maxwell will begin test flights this year, and the Pipistrel Velis Electro light aircraft built in Slovenia became the first type certificated crewed electric aircraft, on June 10, 2020.
