The time is 2:22 A.M, MST, Northern Utah.

Looked out the window, and I see strange lights blinking in the sky. Was going to write it off as just a airliner, but it didn't move. Watched for a little while longer, still didn't move, but just blink lights the color of red, blue, and white.

Got the telescope to make sure it wasn't a NASA space probe or a space station, nothing was there, just those lights. Got a camera out, just to put it as proof that I have seen something weird and to prove those that require proof that I saw something weird, took a picture and it just came up as a blank screen because it was too dark.

Thought I might want to post something like this to say "got some weird lights in the sky."

At a guess I would say you probably saw either Venus, Mars, Jupiter, or Saturn , all clearly visible now .

You should be able to catch four of five visible planets in July 2011. By visible planet, we mean any planet that can be viewed without an optical aid and that was known to our ancestors since time immemorial. In their outward order from the sun, the visible planets are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.

You could download Stellarium if you want to rule planets in or out .

Definitely click that link so we can find out whether this is Venus or not.

Even IF I am convinced Venus is nothing more than a giant Chinese Lantern.

We're 14.500 users in ATS, three or four times per week we get sightings reported, so applying basic reason there must be large hundreds per week in the world. This is becoming so regular. I like it.

I guess most of them are, hmm, "UBVFOs", as: Unidentified By Viewer Flying Objects
but we just cant be sure, at all. And that's why it's a never-ending story...

What was it like on your telescope? Did it blink? How long did it last? Thank you for reporting!

Sounds like the typical UFO.
Supposedly if not too high up you could travel around the flying ship
proving to yourself it was not a star.
Stars are for all purposes are infinitely far away and more difficult to travel
around if possible at all.

might I want to remind you, they were blinking, stars only have a constant light.

As well they were close together.

No they dont, stars and in particular planets can blink quite alot due to our atmosphere.

There's a reason why so many think they are UFOs...
