Libya: Rebel and NATO attack on oil city repulsed

www.forbes.com

Moussa Ibrahim told journalists that rebel forces attacked the town of Brega backed by NATO forces in the sea and air in a coordinated attack that he said violated the alliance's U.N. mandate to protect civilians.

"It was a full scale attack and it was heavy and merciless," he said. "We were successful in combating this attack and we did defeat both NATO and the rebels and we killed many rebel forces and captured a good number of them as well."

looks like the war for oil is finally coming out into the open in all of its ugly nakedness. The fact that nato is coordinating offensive movements to take an oil town that has not had any rebels in it for months shows any who have doubts what a farce this whole thing is. it isnt about protecting lives, more of these precious al-queda... i mean "rebels" died trying to take the port than if no offensive action had been taken at all.

with this in mind i feel free to say, nato i hope you fail miserably and this whole thing blows up in your face...oh wait, it already has!

The same thing happened in Iraq. The Americans protected the buildings that held the important oil documents, while letting the "insurgents" destroy all the production facilities. They did that because they were only concerned with the paperwork and maps of the oilfields. After everything was destroyed, they could just give the contracts to Haliburton and KBR to start rebuilding. This link has tons of information about the events preceding and following the Iraq invasion.

I just hope Gadaffi can come out on top with this one and put NATO back in its place. It always makes me feel good when the real good guys are winning. We don't see that very often these days. This story, along with the one about the Quartzite police refusing to obey unlawful orders, gives me hope that all is not yet lost to tyranny.

Gaddaffi? A good guy? You mean the guy that was behind Lockerbie?

Yeah, right.

Bet you felt real good when all those innocent passengers were murdered, huh?

how are you so sure he is guilty? the case is hardly settled when it comes to facts. it is only settled in the eyes of rigged courts who gave predetermined guilty verdicts.

Victor Ostrovsky, a Canadian former intelligence colonel with Israel's Mossad secret service and author of the bestseller By Way Of Deception (the title comes from the Mossad motto), will testify that it was Mossad commandos who set up the transmitter in Tripoli that generated a false signal about the "success" of the Berlin bomb - he has already given a detailed description of this daring operation in his second book, The Other Side Of Deception.

www.guardian.co.uk...

the lie is half way across the globe by the time the truth puts on its shoes.
but as for gaddafi, he may be no angel, but he isn't the one who was shooting our troops in iraq.
not so much can be said for the al queda rebels we are supporting who are islamic extremists.

and if you want to talk evil, what is more evil than blowing the crap out of people half way across the world who never attacked us, just so we can take their oil and destroy their infrastructure?

There has been so much proof thrown up about Ghaddafi and how evil he is, alot by myself, that it's really impossible to deny.

I'd be more than happy to give you all the facts again however a simple google search will give you all the evidence you need that this guy needs to go.

well i would say again, what is more evil than blowing the crap out of people half way across the world who never attacked us, just so we can take their oil and destroy their infrastructure?

again we are supporting legitimate al-quada rebels who have been caught lynching black people and raping, burning, and looting their way joyously applauded by nato across the libyan desert. so lets say gaddafi has more than unpaid parking tickets in his past, who are we to judge?

at least he isnt bombing our cities to steal our national resources.
so far we have killed two of his children. i havnt heard any libyan bombs going off in dc.

that second site has some rather interesting pictures of "Qaddafi's" victims, thing is for one you can't tell who killed these victims. in fact in two of the still photos we see upper torsos with heads and 1 torso with head and also a pair of legs, the interesting thing is they rather remind me of the pictures from cell cameras out of iraq of suicide bombers. the bomb destroys the area where was attached and leaves upper torsos and legs behind. sorry i'm not convinced by that site of who is doing what. looks to me like very likely disinformation. just a collection of videos and pictures of victims that either side could easily have committed

ok. those are two biased one sided collections of propaganda. the point is this is a civil war started by CIA and European intelligence to split the country and steal the oil. of course there is going to be horrible things on both sides, because no war is more brutal then a civil war.

i can show videos of crimes committed by the angelic al quedas rebels we are supporting. the point is none of this would have happened if intelligence agencies hadn't started this whole thing.

WARNING REALLY GRAPHIC
and here is the other side:

Al queda angels lynching and beheading people

angel al quedas abiding by geneeva conventions

angel al quedas sawing off captured peoples heads

so you can see both sides will have atrocities. but it is a FACT that nato is actively supporting real al queda terrorists in libya right now. the same people who shot at us troops in iraq are now hacking off black peoples heads in eastern libya.

gaddafi is no angel but these "democracy freedom fighter al queadas" are just another western oil grab puppet and terrorists will act like terrorists. the media talks day in and day out about gaddafi troops being given viagra to help them rape (which is utterly ridiculous) but not a peep of the barbarous behavior of the angelic al queada rebels. it just goes to show what a big plot this is to get libyas oil and infrastructure.

media, intelligence and western military and diplomacy all in lock step to get that oil.

I understand it happens on both sides and my point wasn't to justify one over the other. I just like to point out to people that Ghaddafi isn't the angel he's sometimes made out to be.

That's all

UPDATE:

more NATO lies

"NATO's mission is to prevent attacks and threats against civilians and that is what we are doing," an alliance statement said on Friday. "NATO has no military forces on the ground and no direct contact with opposition forces. "However, we do receive information from allied sources in Libya. We take this information into account to ensure that our actions are consistent with our U.N.-mandated mission to protect civilians.

CNN

another blatant lie from NATO. nato weapons all over the ground. nato blowing up police checkpoints in the desert to clear the way for the rebels. nato forward observers on the ground working for the rebels. nato breaking the arms embargo by sending in weapons. nato cutting off fuel to tripoli to starve out the population. nato blowing up fuel stations not held by rebels. nato bombing in residential areas and killing civillians.

honestly i would respect nato more if they just came out and admitted they were fighting for the al queda rebels.
more nato lies.

Really? So I guess you think the Libyan people are just stupid sheep that love to be ruled by good ol' Momar? That they aren't smart enough to see what's going on in the middle east and think, "Hey, we can have some of that freedom."

Gaddafi is purposely trying to place his civilians in harm so they were used as human shields by NATO bombing.

where did i ever say ghaddafi is good? i didnt.

what you should be asking is why NATO is backing KNOWN al queda fighters to overthrow ghaddafi.
as someone who has lived in the middle east i will tell you this. nothing that ever goes on in the middle east EVER benefits the poor working class oppressed people there. EVER. bombing the ever living poo out of them to "save" them surely doesn't help anything.

ghaddafi had made big strides the past 10 years to try and reform and got rid of his weapons programs. why did this revolution happen then? because it was never about ghaddafi so much as it was part of a wider CIA plan to sweep the arab world and install fresh puppets with the arab spring and then finally reach iran, and then russia and china. ghaddafi for all of his faults threw a wrench in the globalists plans though. so while i don't like 3rd world dictators i dislike one world globalist dictators even more.

that is my only view point. i hope ghaddafi succeeds because i want the globalists to fail. that and the rebels are known al queda barbarians (at least the ones who actually know how to fight, not the guys in the skinny jeans running around with kitchen knives).

that freedom they won in egypt? nothing changed. the military is still in the streets. if you believe all that poppycock about arab spring and freedom you have been watching too much cnn and aljezeera. this is nothing but CIA stagecraft. a changing of the bird cage liner to calm the masses and to keep them from throwing the west out. they will give them new puppets like el baredi in egypt or the al queda monarchists in libya.

the people will never be free in the middle east until they have real revolution. not some CIA engineered color revolution poppycock. i hope they do have freedom someday. i loved the people i met over there and want them to be free, but i know ridiculous CIA manipulation when i see it, and that is all this is.

also "good ol momar" gave out a million ak 47's to the population of tripoli. now if they all hate him as much as you propose why aren't they turning the guns on him? could it be a large portion of the country actually likes him? that is indeed the case...

I see this same hoo ha on ATS quite often.

In the real world:

We let Iraq give the oil contracts to China and China controls most of the oil fields in Iraq.
