OP your not crazy at all. I view the coming collapse as an inevitability by now. I prefer it happen sooner rather than later. Why? Well, I'm relatively young and would prefer dealing with hard times while I have good health. If I have to grow my own food, or God forbid spill blood I prefer it happening soon rather than 10-20 years down the road when I may not be as capable of of doing those things as now. And to be honest I hope the Baby Boomers get to experience the hardships of the world they are leaving the rest of us.

You're not crazy because your idea fits in the general pattern "Let's finish already, we can't stand this tension and uncertainties anymore!". It's humane and it's normal. When you're completely down, the only way you can go is up.

And yes, you're crazy like a hamster on coffee because if the U.S. of A. will collapse, the rest of the world will follow shortly. Don't full yourself: USA is essential for the world's well being so you people have a great responsibility there.

If a collapse is imminent, what does buying more time get us if the collapse doesn’t happen? How do we plan for the future with this hanging over our heads? With this threat hanging over our heads, doesn’t it cause more frustration and stress? Is it just more time to listen to government’s lies while they continue to use/rob our money?

Does it give people more time to prepare? And would they prepare? Would they continue “as is” thinking the government will fix it each and every time this comes up?

As you can read, I am getting quite frustrated with the whole scenario. Not sure I want to have this crap hanging over my head for the next ~5 years.

Don't know if it's officially crazy... but there is a subset of people (here and people you meet every day), who enjoy the excitement and non-mundane nature of disasters. They hope for them. They are the ones who get excited at tornadoes, and hope that 40" of snow hits their city. They would be thrilled of a small meteor took out a small town, I think. And they don't even necessarily want suffering or death (some might)... they just want something.. different to happen. Rather than the humdrum daily existence.

Reason imo? Evolution and human development. As as species, our bodies and psyche were created specifically to handle obstacles. To overcome disasters, disease, and tragedy. And within a very short span of time, our dangerous world.. not all of it mind.. but a great deal of it.. has become very "safe." And I think physiologically, we haven't adapted to the new world.

People IN disasters... people in third world countries where it's NOT safe.. I don't think they are wishing for a disaster. But those people who do not have any dangers other than not crossing the street against the crosswalk are missing something. Why do you think so many people get excited at extreme sports? As they say.. basically, it's in our blood (i.e. DNA).

So, I am not surprised you feel this way. I DO feel that humans need to learn to adapt (or eventually, it will occur naturally imo), but honestly, that could take many more decades. You can't erase the millenia of development in a short span of years.

You're not crazy...and neither am I for wanting an end to the current situations. Personally, I want it all to not so much end, but want it to "come to a head". I see that "we" (meaning the country) are throwing money and effort at these problems, trying to apply a temporary fix to a failed system of errors. While we do this, the money we could be using to cushion the fall, is being wasted on these band-aid fixes, and leaving a very hard surface for us to hit when it happens. If instead, we would use our assets to phase in the inevitable in a more comfortable way, over a longer period, I think we would be better off. But it is the typical "King" syndrome where the leaders would rather waste everything, trying to prevent the fall from happening "on their watch". Their decisions to throw money at problems, instead of prepare for what is bound to happen is the scary...and possibly disastrous part.

I have no problem learning to live within our means, and with less. But having to do so overnight is terrifying.

In general:
Those who want the collapse (or to just get it over with so to speak) are most likely unemployed or underemployed, have been badly burned by the system in some way, emotionally drained, tried everything to get out of a rut, tired of hearing the same drivel for years on MSM while looking for someone to provide "hope and change".
Or they just love pain to the Nth degree.

Those who don't want the collapse are doing well, most likely due to public sector jobs oriented around the wars/occupations (or banking-bailout related schemes), have plenty of psych meds and shrinks due to their good health care plans, have permanent smiles planted on their faces, plenty of Viagra, and attend every soccer/band pratice of their 2.7 kids in their huge gas guzzling Hummers/SUVs.
Or they just can't tolerate or imagine the pain that will come with collapse of the "comfy zone".

I say bring it on,lets get this show on the way, im sick of this world and the way it works,i dont care about this materialistic society,bring it down,lets destroy it and create what we see fit,enough of these elites,they are arent classed as humans to me,i hope they burn in hell and take their associates with them.

We live in a consumer driven, disposable society made possible only by complete and total consumption of all of the accessable sweet light crude petroleum on our planet.

Large numbers of our population have been brain washed by right wing talk show nut cases.

The people who drive our economy have decided to plunge ahead at full speed towards the looming disaster like the megalomaniacs they are, in complete denial of the disaster that lays ahead if we stay on this course.
