The light bulbs are nothing.

My son told me one of the biggest drains was the cable tv box, thingy, whatchamacallit, I don't know if this is correct, is it?

A power guy who came here for repairs told me the biggest drains are things that pull a lot of heat.
The clothes dryer, the dishwasher, electric hot water heater.....obviously heating and cooling.
It makes sense.

Uhm…
Why are you stockpiling anything, the bill didn’t pass:

233 members voted yes and 193 cast nay votes. But the House required a supermajority to approve this particular package. In this case, it would have needed 285 yea votes to pass.

Hence the title of “House Turns Out the Lights on Bulb Ban”.

A cold and very broken, hallelujah

Like i said. Things that run on 240 VAC / 60 Hz.

The light bulbs run on 120 VAC/ 60 Hz.
The refrigerator runs on 120 VAC but it cycles on/off all day and all night.
Your 55" LCD TV probably consumes the same amount of power as your
cable TV box. You can find the Wattage stamped on the back of both.

At Home Depot you can buy a Kill-a-Watt meter to show you the energy hogs.

BTW, i'm an electrician.
