Something has gone badly wrong with the Egyptian revolution. The ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces – just what the "Supreme" bit means is anyone's guess – is toadying up to middle-aged Muslim Brothers and Salafists, the generals chatting to the pseudo-Islamists while the young, the liberal, poor and wealthy who brought down Hosni Mubarak are being ignored. Didn't Egypt already finish this revolution and now its all apple pie and ice cream over there?! Ha, no! The military took over control of the government after the revolution and Mubarek was kicked out. Now, it seems that its back to the old ways.. whats that line?

'Meet the new boss, same as the old boss'

Is this the start of yet another revolution? Seems like these people worked really hard to change their country, had many killed and injured, and now, it starts again? Will it be more violent this time? Or will it even go that far?

You raise a VERY important subject......... even though Egypt has ''fallen Off'' the media radar it is definitly worth watching because we have a country which is both Politically and Geographically Strategic important to the West.....more than most understand.....!!

Currently the easy default option is what is happening..... Islamification of the country bought on by envy and fear......

There are still those in the new power system who were from before BUT they have lost their 'rod of iron' and are now looking for a new one, one in the form of Islam and it's faith..... a control over the people....

It is worrying and it will be interesting to see what the Western powers try to do, although we are (ref News Corp and Murdoch) as corrupt as any other.......

My biggest fear for Egypt........... a new Germany from the 1930's............. look at history, the population disafected and led by a few ideologists and one in particular..... Egypt aint that far away and also look at their flag....... eirieelly the same ??

This is pretty much how "revolutions" have gone throughout history... except, maybe, the French revolution (for a brief period, anyway) because they actually sent a few heads rolling!

The reality is, the situation in Egypt is a reflection of the global situation, the fight is one of the average, middle-class citizen versus the wealthy corporations, oligarchies and aristocracies which make up the so-called "ruling elite".

The mainstream media never (or rarely) emphasizes this point, but the revolutions in Northern Africa, the Middle East, and now Greece (Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Italy soon to follow) has everything to do with citizens having had enough of their countries' wealth being exported to foreign banks and corporations or hoarded by a "select" few, while the tab is being handed down to the average, tax-paying citizens.

The sad thing is, unless a few heads start rolling (figuratively, of course... "cough, cough") the power structures are set-up to ensure that whatever uprisings might erupt in the streets, the status quo is protected behind the doors of the respective parliaments.

That said, the people are not as ignorant as the politicians seem to think, and this revolution is taking on a world-wide fervor... if only THE PEOPLE understood that they were all fighting the same fight.

A failed plot.

The military council is in support of Mubarak. Those who believe Mubarak is in hospital need to wake up and realize that he most likely is kicking back in his mansion. All members of the military council are Mubarak's long time friends and allies. The same remnant of the old regime is running the country, the people have realized it and taking to the streets again.

This is not about Muslim Brotherhood, this is about the people who are asking for justice to be served, before any peace and stability may rise.

Thanks! it is very important as firstly, I can't stand that the media hasn't talked more about, yet it doesnt suprise me as the new regime is just as loyal to the corrupt western powers as Mubarek was.

The 'Supreme military council' (Yes, thats not a joke, thats what the ruling government of Egypt is called right now, insane no?!) wants to still receive that 2 billion a year from the US.. especially since a majority of it goes to the military, and all the big boys ruling the country now are military commanders. So, it doesn't suprise me that the media NWO controlled media doesn't mention it.. why would they. Egypt is back to the status quo that it was, even as early as last year when Mubarek was the big man on campus!

This actually makes me vaguely hopeful.

The last "revolution" was a staged event by Soros et at for their political and financial reasons.

There are lots of threads outlining what really happened here on ATS.

That the Egyptian people are starting to rise up against this bankster crap is hopeful. Maybe more countries will too.

Actually its a muslum revolt by muslum people against a new muslum government (Brotherhood),,so we will see how the "brotherhood" handles revolt,, and who ultimatly conrolled the military...its still the militaries right as per the agreement,, too depose the now existing government,, if the majority of the muslim people chose so.

At least thats how i see it.

Nice. this is definitely a case of meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

just goes to show you, it's not the leader that has power but powers behind the leader. this is really amazing. i was positive no change would occur after the first revolution, but if these guys actually pull off some real change. well my goodness that would just be inspiring.

i'm waiting for this to come to america, but as long as we have jersey shore and facebook i just don't see it happening.

Come on AMERICA we are supposed to be the best but they sure are showing us how it's done. kudos to them. i wish i could be over there and help.. think i'll order them some food if it gets ugly.
