then why did you not return the $3000 you felt you were not entitled too? just asking.
If you did, good for you the country needs more like you. Yes some tax laws, and loop holes need to be shut off and closed.

Because my $3000 was a drop in the bucket, would not have been significant to anyone but my family, and the government would not have paid it against the debt, they would have spent it even more frivolously than I did! At least I used it as a down payment on my Harley!

In all honesty, I would be happy to give the money back if I could get some guarantee that it would be applied wisely, but I'm not going to just throw it away into a black hole.

and TPTB are sitting back laughing at all of us right now
for falling right back into this left/right paradigm.

I just got off the phone with my dad who depends on SS
to survive. I advised him of this threat from Obama
and he replied "Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it".

The Republicans should have stuck with the $4 trillion deal but they did not and that does not mean I will abandon them because we still need drastic cuts before class warfare.

Cuts to who?? THE 2%? THE RICH??

The Trillion $$$ bailout was done on GW's watch, voted for and supported by the repubs, not Obama.

Haha what?!

clerk.house.gov...

YEAS

Democrats - 172
Republicans - 91

NOES

Democrats - 63
Republicans - 108

73% of Democrats voted YEA and 45% of Republicans voted YEA. I will admit it was close but the support came overwhelmingly from the Democrats in the House.

www.senate.gov...

YEAS

Democrats - 40
Republicans - 34

NOES

Democrats - 10
Republicans - 15

80% of Democrats voted YEA and 69% of Republicans voted YEA. Once again it was close but more Democrats came out in support of the bailout than Republicans.

But we cannot forget Mr. Spend-War-Wire Tap-Deficit known as Bush and it was his pushing for and signing of this legislation made it pass.

Oh noes!!! The eeeevvvvviiiilllll Republicans are going to push granny down the stairs!!! Where have we heard this garbage before? Oh yeah, just about every election cycle from the Democrats...well...in between similar statements of impending doom for minorities, women and children, at the hands of those nasty Republicans.

So much for hope and change, huh? This is just more of the same, old tired bull**** from the Democratic party. When they run out of arguments, they resort to scare tactics and bullying to get the job done.

Why would I say we need drastic cuts not class warfare and mean that we should hit the rich? Do you not get how asinine that would be? I mean cuts to military, EPA, Education, Health Care, reform of entitlements, etc…

I thought you meant Tax CUTS for the rich because you said you believe taking money from people who have earned it more than others is stealing.

He is threatening SS because he gets the biggest bang and he is holding hostages. There is money there, it just needs to be rerouted. We can stop payments to the rest of the world. We can sell off the new bullet proof vehicles his admin purchased. I am sure Pakistan would buy a dozen or so. The first family can stop taking vacations. I am sure the first lady could lay off 30 or 40 of her personal assistants. Lots of areas that can be canned but he goes after SS. Tells you what kind of person he is, doesn't it. We could get the IRS to audit Wash DC (pres/ house/ senate) and demand payment of back taxes, plus fines and interest. Lots of avenues for income. I am angry that he goes for the throat when he does not get his way. He's a cry baby and we elected him.

Good! Cut off the socialism security benefits to those "receipients" who didn't contribute one penny into the system. I'm talking about those old timers who continue to collect these "free hand outs" every year in America, only to go back home and "vacation" to their countries, say, India, Philippines, etc!!!

Allow me to explain, please. I do not want to redistribute wealth from the rich to the working class/poor. I do not object however to raising taxes so as to pay for wars (i.e. a war tax) or for tackling a deficit (deficits are worse for an economy than taxes). As of right now I said the $4 trillion cuts which included ending tax loopholes and raising new revenue was not a bad deal and would have supported it.

Basically I am not necessarily against raising taxes, per se, but am against redistributing it or raising taxes without performing massive cuts to the government first.

C'mon, folks! We're supposed to be smarter than this! Right?

It's Obama's fault....
It's the Republicans fault....
It's the Democrats fault.....
It's ALL OF THEM!!!! It's all their faults!!!

They don't care about us! Wake up and smell the coffee!

We have soldiers coming home who are supposed to be getting psychological help, but they aren't getting it. We have soldiers who are homeless because they can't find a job.

Our government bailed the banks out, not the little people. When Bank of America got their bail out, they used the money to open Bank of Asia. People losing their homes. The government cutting back on unemployment benefits. The government is already cutting back on the amount of Social Security people receive each month. What's to stop them from making everyone's food stamp cards unusable? It would simply take a simple check/uncheck on their computer screen and you wouldn't be able to buy food.

I really don't care if Obama's threat of withholding Social Security checks is a hollow threat. It's a threat. I don't know about you, but I don't like being threatened.

Considering all the people who have lost their homes and have had to move in with relatives/friends/strangers, it seems as though this is a trend that our government is pushing us towards. It's as if they want as many people as possible living under one roof whether or not it's healthy or psychologically condusive to the ideal family structure. Is anyone else noticing this, or is it just me?

This is sad, especially when looking at how many Veterans are getting Social Security alot of highly trained pissed off individuals, looks like a hellstorm brewing, my people.Military Veterans receiving Social Security
I found 2010 that's the most recent I could find. Pissing off highly trained maybe SEALS and Snipers doesn't seem like a very smart move, unless they want a reason to create a police state but then again who are they going to send to police them? Not the military as they will stick by their fellow servicemen and retired servicemen.

I also "blame them all" all being the (as Obama so eloquently put it in his Monday presser/lovefest) "professional politicians." That we are governed by a (mostly) select group of Harvard/Yale/Columbia pointy heads, almost to a one, "professional politicians" who never held a private sector job. Terms limits for Congress and Senate--no more legacys (be they Kennedys; Bushes; Clintons).

The next President NEEDS to be someone outside of that Ivy League circular firing squad. Ron Paul, Herman Cain, Michelle Bachmann, are declared. I'd take any of those three, and I'll add I hope Palin (yes Palin--unilke Obama, she has been vettted, continually for three years).

As to the immediacy of today's threat--well, any real "leader" of either party needs to have a sit down with the CiC and point out that hreatening citizens does NOT happen in America---i guess they don't teach THAT at Coluimbia.

THe audacity and willingness of Obama to use S.S. as a threat is simply unacceptable. The fact that this idiot is willing to play this card so freely says a lot about the man and his ambitions. He would rather hold your check than try to reach an amicable agreement that will work the BEST for this nation. Clearly his plan is to the contrary.

The man just pushes the nation closer to the edge with the passing of each and every day.

Everyone and his uncle needs to know about this threat.

Remember the crises and threats that were used to pass Obamacare in big rush? All fabricated by Obama and his handlers.

Grrr!

But that's the thing...
We are disillusioned into believing We "are powerless".
We are far from powerless.
WE just have to realize that.
The day WE do... is the day all of these fn scumbags fall to their knees.
It can happen.
It will happen..
But when?
We need everyone.

And seriously Obama/Fed/Gov/etc?
Who the F do you think you are?

Keep up with this $#!^, and you will have more "enemies of the state" (aka "terrorists" in your books) - ("freedom fighters" in Truth) than you or your military will know what to do with.. Think not?

You've got some balls.
That WE will gladly chop off at the base, if you push us to.
and We are just waiting for the push...........

Thank you for not singling out one side or the other. It's very refreshing.

I hate the way everyone in politics is rich. It doesn't matter if they come from old money or new money. I'd much rather have people in political systems who are in the middle class, don't own stock in oil, and hasn't been involved with some sick fraternity such as the Skull and Bones. Why can't we have some regular guy or gal who isn't bought and paid for and has the guts to stand up against sociopathic people?

I just don't get it. All these candidates who raise millions of dollars. For what? Who is benefitting from all those millions of dollars? How many people could've been fed or clothed? At this point in the game, I wouldn't mind moving to Africa or some place where I could get off the grid and out of the madness.

Where do the repubs draw their line in the sand?

Refusing to give permanent tax cuts to the middle class, while insisting on permanent tax cuts for the super rich.

If you e not rich, why in the world would you vote repub. All they have done is destroy our economy.

www.cbsnews.com...

Mr. Obama agreed, on the condition that the Bush-era tax cuts for low earners be made permanent -- presumably while the tax cuts for high earners are allowed to expire. In Boehner's telling, that's when talks began to break down.

We all know the big repub plan is to prevent any economic recovery, in vain hope that one of their nut job pres contenders could actually beat Obama in the next election.

Meanwhile the super rich continue with their program of selling our country to China.

Reading though this threat I am taken aback by the shear ignorance of the posters and their knee jerk reactions.

Anybody how understand how this stuff works knows that the president was talking out of his ass (don't care what party he is) and what everyone is ignorantly breaking out about can't happen like he said.

I am ashamed to live in a country where the average citizen is so ignorant they don't even understand reality, but would rather read a mislead blurb on a conspiracy board and have a cow about it. America is doomed. The folks on this board, flaws and all are smarter than your average bear, and the fact that they are not smart enough to understand the basics leaves me little hope for the joe sixpack types out there.

There is a reason no one takes us seriously. Perhaps if we backed up suck nonsense with facts, followed bu Eaton and common sense we wouldn't look so stupid.

Its one hell of a Harley though! haha.

Truthfully though, if you had given it back, it would have gone to some moron that refuses to work because they are on disability for being too fat. There's a good way to decrease government spending, STOP THE FAT CHECKS!
