I love SaturnFX's threads, unfortunately, in the two full pages it seems there were maybe three replies that fully comprehended the subject. Seriously, people just because you're religious doesn't mean you can't think scientifically. The OP says nowhere that Saturn thinks God is an alien, nor that he believes in God, nor aliens. This is a purely hypothetical situation. (I won't even begin to respond to the post about Project Bluebeam or whatever.)

When you think of the atrocities that God inflicted upon mankind, according to the Christian Bible, the Torah, and the Koran, among many other scriptures; includes, but is not limited to the "Great Flood." In any text where the flood in mentioned, it's described as a global genocide caused by none other than an angry god. Let's go with Saturn's hypothetical scenario and say this this same god turned out to not be some omnipotent heavenly being, but, an alien. Now, to us, surely as the scriptures tell us, this alien created humans in his own form, so, we would not be seeing a little green man, or some reptilian, but just a guy in a spaceship.

For a moment, I'm going to cast aside the thought of the great flood an think of Sodom and Gomorrah. These cities were wrought with crime, prostitution, murder, and other "sins." Well, the kind, loving, benevolent god didn't say "You know what? These people need some help." He destroyed both cities and every man woman and child that lived there.

Now, before you religious types ignore the beginning or my post and start flaming, consider Osama bin Laden. I know plenty of religious people, but, I didn't know one person that said it was wrong for the US to have punished him for his actions which have lead to the deaths of thousands. Now remember, the god in this hypothetical scenario is just a guy with some big guns. Osama was killed for taking the lives of thousands, while this guy on a spaceship killed millions.

Now, having considered all this, I have to conclude that a pure, ethical, and moral society would have no choice other than to punish this alien for his crimes. The issue I have is that this is not a pure, ethical, or moral society we live in. We would quickly forgive all these crimes for the alien's technology that allows it to travel intergalactically. Mankind has never even stepped foot on the planet nearest us and would be more than willing to forgo punishment for a chance to truly travel the stars. Beyond space travel technology, there's a bit of technology that our powerful elite would surely love the chance to acquire, given even the slightest though there may be an opportunity to do so.

The Judeo-Christian God gave Moses the Torah/Old Testament at Mount Sinai somewhere in the neighborhood of 3,300 years ago, if this alien was in fact the same god, he's seemingly found a way to thwart death. If you think the elites would bring charges against a guy that found a way to cheat death, you'd most likely be incorrect.

So, in summation, our terrible, awful society would be the only thing to save the religious masses from seeing their deity in an orange jumpsuit.

(Holy crap, I didn't mean to write a novel when I started. If you read all the way to here, thank you, and I'm sorry haha.)
