Accused war criminal Amir Peretz narrowly escaped an embarrassing arrest in London where he gave aspeech at an University. Prior to his trip he was warned he may face arrest in the UK. Peretz chose to ignore those warnings and came dangerously close to being arrested.I do not know if there is credible evidence against him or not but apparently a magistrate in London thought so. It may be just a matter of time before they arrest him or another. Eventually an Israeli will be caught, put on trial for their part in the last Lebanon war or Cast Lead and and either convicted or exonerated.

Israel has been trying to get the British government to pass a law prohibiting these sorts of arrests but to no avail so far. As I understand the law in the UK these types of arrest warrants can be obtained on the slightest evidence may not hold up in a trial. But as we saw in the Demanajyk trial it does not take a lot of evidence to convict.
