There are other threads about this issue but they are not aimed towards action nor are they getting the attention they deserve. This thread is intended to move you to engage in peaceful action against blatant tyranny as is our right as American citizens.

Here is the situation, a women by the name of Jennifer Jade Jones was unlawfully arrested for speaking at a town hall meeting in Quartzsite, AZ. The mayor of Quartzsite stated that she had the floor and commanded the chief of police and other officers to stand down on the arrest and allow her to speak. Against the mayors wishes, members of the city counsel and the police chief acted against the orders, arresting her anyway violating her constitutional and civil rights.

On July 10th, the chief of police declared a state of emergency in Quartzsite and ordered officers into tactical swat team like gear. Mayor Ed Foster was ordered to town hall by the police chief and forced to participate in some clandestine meeting against his wishes and despite him declaring the meeting was not legal.

What has happened is that this town has been hijacked by terrorists with guns and badges against the wishes of the mayor who is desperately trying to rally people to his side although he should not have too as what these people have done is nothing short of treason and have committed a laundry list of felonies.

People say all the time, I wan't to do something, what can I do, can I help things to get better? How can I contribute to change? The answer is that you do something right now about this grave injustice and understand that if we all allow this to happen in this small American town, it truly is the death of freedom, and you had better believe that it is.

One small step for man.
One giant leap for Tyranny.

This is a very proactive approach to the situation.

As you have mentioned, all too often people are willing-
to complain about an issue but yet do nothing about it.

I am British but I will send an email.

Start a petition maybe?

So the :"news" source concocts something that scares someone that make the news come true -- something stinks here.

"Jones told WND there's actually no emergency of any kind, as it's a peaceful Sunday with people attending church; but in the wake of a WND report which exposed allegations of wrongdoing by local government officials, the town council and police convened an unpublicized meeting to declare an emergency for their own protection."

WND is doing a little rabble rousing here. Not good

The wrong doing was captured on video and is clearly a crime as the police were in direct conflict of the mayors just and reasonable orders.

The "arrest" then becomes kidnapping and punishable by law. The facts are the facts, nothing has been concocted. A crime has taken place but since the police of the town are rogue who can arrest them? The answer is the state police and it needs to be done right away before evidence of wrong doing can be destroyed or hidden.

Isn't Jan Brewer the governor who wanted to grant the police in her state the questionable authority to stop anyone and "demand papers" to prove citizenship. I don't think she will be of much help. Her loyalties are dubious at best.

She is the best hope of resolving this quickly as she is the final authority of the state. This is a precedent we must not allow to be set. Imagine emboldened police chiefs and other corrupt government figures overthrowing the rightful leaders in there communities anytime the constitution or liberty gets in the way of there fascism?

You are lucky this thread has not been deleted due to activism. I somewhat recently made a thread right after I heard the news that Obama wanted to put medicare "on the table" to Republicans. I gave the US Whitehouse comment line. My thread was -immediately- "trashed" for "activism". Your thread is a really important fight against tyrrany, and isn't a conspiracy forum all about trying to learn the truth about tyrrany?

That is why I did not include any contact information through direct links, I only offered the information allowing people to make up there minds on there own and pursue action outside of ATS.

In case you guys didn't know this, the police are not at the beck and call of the Mayor. He doesn't and can't dictate whatever policy he wants to the police. I've read of Mayor's being arrested by their own police for drunk driving.

This lady was overstepping her bounds. I've been to many town meetings and people get riled up. Add to that her other job as running some sort of paper there and you can imagine her rants and raves. She had the floor said her peace and was asked to step down, probably to let someone else speak. When she wouldn't surrender the microphone so someone else could have a turn she was threatened with being escorted out.

The mayor then allowed her to speak again where she went right back into her furious accusations instead of bringing up logical points again and was again told to surrender the microphone. The council doesn't have all night to listen to the ramblings of one hysteric woman. The police then proceeded to escort her out where she was being unruly so they arrested her.

Just because the Mayor said not to do it in no way means they shouldn't have. He has no power at this point to tell the police how to do their job.

I like how everyone ignores the facts and turns this into some civil rights issue. For all you know the Mayor was having an affair with this lady.

I don't even know where to start on this post, almost everything you typed is completely wrong. Please get your facts straight before you chime in on such an important topic.

First of all, the mayor is the final authority when it comes to police in a town, his authority supersedes that of the chief of police or city counsel. Yes there are instances where mayors have been arrested, when they have been observed committing a crime. No crime was committed by this mayor so his authority is not in question.

Secondly, the mayor has the authority of the town meeting, he may allow at his discretion somebody to speak or continue to speak, this is his choice.

Are you trying to say that this citizen voicing her concerns over town corruption and blatant roadblocking of the facts is a mad women who was ranting? Do you just have no knowledge of what she was saying or why it needed to be said? Ever hear of the first amendment?

She doesn't run a newspaper, she runs a blog................ So do a billion other people, that means she can't speak at a town hall meeting?

You lack the most basic understanding of how our system of government works, you don't even know what the mayor does or is supposed to do or what authority a mayor has yet you say others are ignoring facts. Perhaps we are not ignoring facts and perhaps you just don't have any. Give me a break.

I agree that this is a precedent that must not allowed to be set, but I think that the best hope of resolving this would be better left to someone who isn't disadvantaged by her clear and present idiocy, namely Jan Brewer.

After she made her point there was nothing more to say. I've seen people that would literally get on their soap box and speak for hours unless somebody moves the meeting along. Once she was determined to have violated the law, such as disorderly conduct the Mayor no longer can dictate to the police.

He does not have the power to tell them to arrest this person or let that person go when they've commited a crime. He should have been arrested too for trying to obstruct the police.

And I already mentioned I didn't know if it was a newspaper or something else. My point in regards to that was that she was probably more well versed in things so would have had no shortage of things to continue on with after the council had gotten the point of what she was trying to say.

They are there to come up with ideas or solutions, not to let individuals rant for as long as they want.

Trust me, I am no Jan Brewer fan, or a fan of Joe Arpio. I just don't know if the federal authorities would get involved, they would most likely defer to the state (Jan Brewer). Although I am sure it wouldn't hurt to try, hopefully the mayor is looking into this, I know that the FBI was contacted by I am unsure if they Mayor has spoken to them directly.

Actually, he was arrested, although it was latent and they tried to pursue felony charges which were dismissed by the DA, they plan on charging him with lesser charges which they will find hard when they find themselves in jail.

The mayor's authority supersedes that of a police chief. The mayor acts as "head" of the police department outside of day to day operations and guess when? Thats right, when a state of emergency is declared as the police chief did yesterday, shocking no? The officers in the case in question are guilty at the very least of insubordination and false arrest. At worst, kidnapping, extortion and terrorism.

And before you want to jump on the chiefs ship any more, maybe you should have a look at THIS his own officers think he is a criminal and guilty of multiple crimes.

Thank you for this story. There are some sources available that I was able to find that validated your story. I also saw the YT video of what transpired. Creepy. I gathered all the sources I could and informed more people on another popular website. The more people know, the harder it will be to pretend this never happened. I gotta say "Wow," but I'm not surprised in the least bit. It's happening...

That is excellent news to here! I believe it is our duty as Americans to inform ourselves to the best of our ability on situations exactly like this one because they are so important to your liberty and freedom, when we make our voice heard and let the government know we are watching, that we care and that we can be pro active when it comes to our freedom, they take notice.

The more people hear about this story, research the history of wrong doing by this corrupt chief of police and understand why some of the city council have been so slow to act or flat out turned a blind eye to the corruption, the story will be forced out. The chief and offending officers and council members tried and jailed and the town will be returned to order by giving it back to the rightful authorities, the mayor and a non corrupted city council.

So your saying that mayors can just walk through jails and tell the cops to let whoever they want to go free. Doubtful. I also highly doubt they can order officers to make arrests when there is no evidence. Sure the mayor may be in charge but that doesn't give him the right to dictate how they do their job.

If this lady commited a crime that the police deemed legitimate then the mayor has no authority to order them to do something different. If it was a false arrest than they should be held accountable but the police are not there to serve the mayor as his own little personal posse.

No, he can not go through a jail and order prisoners released. He may however issue a pardon within his jurisdiction which is mostly the same thing, this is highly rare though. They may order the arrest of somebody although I have never heard of such an instance.

Also, since the forum was the city meeting, the mayor has the final say in that venue. Since the mayor gave his permission for her to continue speaking she was committing no crime and therefore unlawfully arrested. They had no cause to remove her or obstruct her from speaking since she already had permission from the mayor to do so, see what I'm getting at?
